    B&I Cup Game 1) Ospreys Premier Select v Munster A, St. Helens @ 14:30 Sat 14th Oct

B&I Cup kicking off this weekend against the Ospreys Select. Should see a great side again this year with the depth that is in the squad.

We will be light in the rows you would think? But otherwise great depth. Just trying to think who will be available - Sean McCarthy, Gavin Coombes, possibly Sean O'Connor.. Copeland? DOS was only back to partial training this week

Ronan Coffey almost certain to be involved you'd think.

One of them will be a travelling reserve in France I'd say. Coffey is likely to get a run

Oh yes. Coffey is very likely. They will be bringing in a few club players presumably

You would hope that with the injuries in the back rows it might drive some of the fringe guys to push on and up their performances.

Bigger question is the backrow for me.. who plays 7?

Yeah back row is a bigger predicament. If Copeland is there possibly him? Don't think Coombes has ever played openside or O'Connor

It looks like Peter Malone has the choice to either go down to the sub academy/under 20 team or else bring in some of the better AIL lads (Kelvin Browne, Bailey Faloon, Brian Hayes etc...).

We should have a strong enough backline (Hart, Bill Johnston, Fitzgerald, JJ, Arnold, Wootton, Dave Johnston) and front row (Cronin, Sherry, Scott/Parker) but like was said earlier, we look badly stuck from 4-8.

Maybe something along the lines of (McCarthy, Coffey, O'Connor, Faloon, Coombes).

Faloon is out until next year I think Colliniho with his shoulder. But I reckon you're right that he'll go down AIL route

I wasn't aware of that, SF. Cheers. Shame for Faloon as he did well for the A's last year and can't have been far off the academy.

Yeah it's a shame. He showed very well for the A's and was massive for Garryowen last season aswell.
