    Jaco Taute

This man deserves his own thread. What an impact he has made.

So I managed to bump into Jaco last night in Limerick. Had a conversation with him about his future, and said I was hoping he would be staying. To be fair, he was very patient with me considering the hour and that I'd clearly had a few scoops. I don't really remember what he said to me in reply, but I do recall his accent sounded more American to me than South African. Killer was with him, presumably for protection from the likes of me.

Just wanted to keep my fellow posters updated on all things Taute.
"I don't believe in fairytales," O'Connell once told me, "even though it feels like I've been lucky enough to live through a few. However it ends, I'll feel lucky."

You might have just ruined any chance of him staying! Thanks a bunch!

He was as lame as a duck. Not the metaphorical lame duck either, but a real duck that was actually lame. Maybe from stepping on a land mine or something.

"There are a lot of points that we’ve left behind and this is with a young group. That probably tells you what they’re capable of and that they’re a very good side.

Probably next year or the year after next they will take some stopping"

Savoy bar. Conor Murray was there too, but I hadn't even Dutch courage! [emoji482]

I read the OP wrong. Thought it was Jaco saying he's hoping to stay on! I got very excited!
