Rugbytots - a fantastic idea for young kids

I've only just become aware of them but it's a fantastic idea for 2-7 year olds.

    https://www.rugbytots.ie/

Max Webb, a rugby-playing parent was trying to find a pre-school rugby class for his three young boys...but back in 2006 there was nothing of that kind around.

It quickly became clear that he wasn't the only parent looking for a rugby play programme for younger children, and what he'd spotted was a very exciting gap in the child development sector

Seizing the opportunity to start his own business – and fulfil his wish of involving his boys in rugby at a fun and accessible level – Max founded Rugbytots
And the good news is that there are Rugbytot centres all over the country.

My son has been going for a year and a half now to the one in Munchins. Loves it. Eddie is a great coach

Any initiative that gets small people running around and socialising is a good thing.

I agree that sport for kids is a good thing. However, I note this is a franchised commercial operation.

Would much prefer to support my local rugby club's juvenile section.

A friend of mine has been involved in this in London as a franchise holder for at least 5 years, he is up the walls with it and we have talked a good bit about it, from what I know its aimed at kids that are to young for clubs juvenile coaching, but will feed into it after a few years, he has had some big london clubs wanting to work with him because of it, and reading between the lines has avoided it. It might not suit all clubs because it needs an indoor venue thats suitable and the franchise has a good set-up with regards coaching curriculum, equipment and support.

The one in Cork is run in garryduff I think.

Have been aware of them for quite a while. They do good work. Really simple idea and would be great to see more.

It is a franchised commercial operation but aimed a lot at kids too young to play in a rugby clubs juvenile section
