    Hi Guys, booked Ibis

Others are probably more familiar with the area but I think you might socialise in Richmond which is 20 mins or so away from bus, or if a group of you get a cab

Thanks LS for the input. I gather that Richmond is one of the traditional meeting areas so for this fixture?

Richmond is a fine spot. Plenty of good pubs etc. there.

Definitely Richmond the night before I'd say. No need to go beyond Twickenham on the day of the game, but it can be a bit dull come the evening depending on ko time as so many people clear out. I usually worked my way up from the cabbage patch to the top of the high street, from where a cab will have you back in Richmond in a few minutes over the bridge.

Hounslow is handy enough location wise, but not much happening there either.

In Richmond I can recommend a few of the chain restaurants. Strada in particular is pretty consistent and if you go to stradaoffers.co.uk you can usually pick up a deal with 25% off or so. Usually works on a Friday but not on a Saturday.

Others are zizzi's, pizza express (milanos) and Cote. Jamie's Italian is not worth it. If you have a few quid and can get a reservation try the Bingham.

            Enjoy.

Thanks for all the help guys, much appreciated. Looks like I'll be bussing it back and forth from the Ibis in Hounslow to Richmond so.

You probably wont have time, but when Im in that area (rarely) I love going to Kew Gardens - massive greenhouses regardless of the weather.

Don't forget the Legends game is on at The Stoop if you're there Fri night. Always great fun watching the old warhorses (including Mick Galway). It's only £10 for adults. The 281 bus goes from Hounslow to Twickenham. Twickenham to Richmond is a nice walk along the river and The Sun is a great pub. It'll be heaving but there are pictures of Jason Leonard so worth the crush.

Thanks Babs, sounds exciting. Does that 10 pound ticket include the gig afterwards?

Alas Hounslow is a bit of a hole. Some very fine £1 shops but little else.
Thankfully it does has great transport links. As BtQ points out, the 281 bus is the one for the match. No time at all. You'd walk it in 20 minutes I reckon.
Also you're on the Piccadilly line which is handy for Heathrow and the West End.
The London branch has been known to organise a bit of a shindig occasionally. So keep an ear out.
But, like Babs says, check out the legends game. I'll be up for that.
And as the others have pointed out, Richmond has some nice pubs for those who are allowed over the river.
