    Attendances

Sorry for the new thread but I was able to pull in all the attendances into one spreadsheet for the past 7 seasons.... since NuTP opened.... so will share a few observations over the next few days.

Will start off with Day of the week. It doesn't seem to matter which day of the week a European match falls on, the attendance will always be good (even though Friday is a large pain in the ass for the Cork crew). The only day that shows a significant drop is Sunday, but that's heavily influenced by this year's 17.8k turnout for the Sale game... a reflection on our pool standing rather than the day of the week, surely.

    Europe:
    Friday evening avg: 25.5k
    Saturday avg: 25.6k
    Saturday afternoon avg: 25.7k
    Saturday evening avg: 25.6k
Sunday avg: 24.3k (25.2k without the Sale game)

For the League though, the day of the week does matter. I am looking at TP only here.... the MP figures are very consistent and I'll do a post of it's own on TP and MP yearly average figures.

    League:
    Friday evening avg: 18.5k
    Saturday avg: 19.6k
    Saturday afternoon avg: 19.4k
    Saturday evening avg: 20.1k

A Friday evening fixture costs us between €27k and €48k per game (€30 avg ticket). 3 or 4 of them a season and it's costing you a decent player's wages.

Should be sent on to Thornley, Toland and the Off The Ball crowd.

if i remember correctly, even the glasgow game (23k) was limited because it was the first day out. (strings got a cheeky try in the north west corner when glasgow tried a quick lineout).

is it interesting that there was a bit of a fuss over the 16k that turned up a few weeks ago at TP for the Pro12 semi final considering the exact same fixture back in 2011 (Magners League Semi Final against Ospreys) had an attendance of just 13k.
