    The Backrow

I think it's clear that a top 4 has emerged at backrow: POM, Stander, TOD, Copeland.
Three of those players can cover 6/8 at a decent level in my opinion, while TOD is more of a one position player.

If TOD went down, who replaces him at 7?
    Does POM shift over?
Does another player step up and if so who? Dougal or Butler?
    Is Stander's best position 6 or 8?
Who is the most likely player not in the top 4, to break into it over the next season or so?

Jack is most likely to break in imo.

Assuming DOC2 is left to play lock

Jack & Buckley looked relatively physical in their miniscule amount of time with the seniors.

Doc2 has to concentrate on remaining fit first and foremost.

Dougall has looked suitable for european rugby in fits and bursts, but again, needs to remain fit and manage to string a few games together
      I am the million man.

        I would say 6 POM/CJ ,7 TOD/Dougall , 8 CJ/Copeland is the order of first choice and deputy .

Although I think CJ's best position is 6 he isn't ahead of POM.

Dougall is a true specialist 7 and but he doesn't play the other positions so if he doesn't start and is on the bench he can only cover 7 which seems a waste of a bench space although as the others are so versatile he would take 7 and switch Tommy . He has had a couple of spells as first choice 7 under Penney notably after his midnight flight from Nottingham with the A's to play against Gloucester where he was MOTM but Axel obviously doesn't fancy him and I expect him to leave at the end of the season.

CJ has got to play and will end his career a Munster legend so I would have him in front of Copeland at 8 . I suppose a way of shoehorning Copeland in as well is to play him as lock .

We should rejoice that we have such riches in the backrow the only problem I see is that Axel can't keep them all happy and the ambitious will inevitably move on if they see it as a closed shop .
