    Silly season 2016

Well it arrived a bit too early, but welcome nonetheless.

I usually dread the silly season, not wanting to be deprived of Munster Rugby.Im quite pleased now, after such a disappointing few weeks.

Yep. It's like watching a lightbulb on it's last legs flickering. Almost a relief when it eventually pops.

So will the squad disband now or continue training for a week or 2?
        I am the million man.

For what? I'd say they'll head for the 4 corners of the globe pretty quickly.

We have the draw for the new European Cup to look forward to and the pools of death it will throw up because of the crazy seeding system.

Will a PRL Club have the same luck in these draws that Biarritz had in ERC draws?

We will have travel plans to make although I am considering not attending our away game in England.

Rugby used to be about character, then it went professional and money started to have a major influence. For a long time there seemed to be some sort of balance between the money and the ethos of the game. That disappeared this season, the man with the money calls the shots and might is right . Union solidarity is well and truly gone and it is every man from himself.

We can ponder over the summer months as to whether BT will achieve their objective of "owning" the sport of rugby union. They have certainly flashed the cash lately and all and sundry seem willing to prostitute themselves for a few quid.

We have at least one positive to look forward to. Our teams will have to finish in the top 5 of the league to guarantee a European spot so it looks like clubs have little option but to take the league more seriously.

A trip to Montpelier would be nice for next season.

Could Munsterfans warm down for a week or two and then like, disband?

Watching the aviva semi final, & the cameraman wanted to get a close up of joe marler as he sat down on the bench, only to be told to piss off by the prop. Silly season is about to start for quins.

This might be silly but would love to hear that Munsters backs had returned early to training to work with the New backs coach now that would be good to hear.

If I forwarded this drivel to your institute they'd refund the balance of your annual dues.

p.s. We finished 3rd this year, seemingly in full reverse, and not giving a damn.
