What’s the rest of the season for?

Well, it'll be some comeback to win the ML now.

Now, imo, is the time to give Manning time with Stringer, phase
O'Sullivan and Ryan into the pack, get Carney up to speed and find
Mafi's best place. Also, I don't like saying it, but players like Kelly,
Horgan and Cullen may be facing into their last few games for Munster.
It is useless to attempt to reason a man out of a thing he was never reasoned into.

Every plan I have is the best plan in the room. Everybody get quiet and listen to it, and everybody will win

I agree. It's time to start building again.

Good post. Add Foley to your list and decide on a full back.

        Don't forget Kieran Lewis.Or Hurley.

I agree with everything especially the last player in the last sentence. Kind of unusual seeing no one jumping to his defence in fact. Although defence and himself would hardly appear in the same sentence. Ok. I'll shup about it now.

Anyone think Mafi showed some signs of greatness at times. He actually made attacking from deep work pretty good in the end.

Looking at halstead drifting across the field though underpins for me though how poor our use of balls was in the backs. While I'm on that : what this thing RoG is doing now where he refuses to throw a skip ball without throwing about 3 "self dummies" first. There's a time and a place. Mafi and co must have been cringing wondering when he was going to toss the feckin thing. And at one stage around 70 mins he wudda put CC through if he'd given early. All very strange, and typical of the day.

Stringer is bigger even than his own immense shadow. Pound for pound, he is the best tackler in the world. If you put him into bag of cats he\'d come out without a scratch. He was hit very late for Murphy\'s try. And when he got up, as we knew he would, the crowd cried his name as if he had just fixed the economy.Billy Keane-After Munster\'s famous loss to the AB\'s.

Certainly time to bring in the likes of Earls, Ryan (congrats on his Try at the end!), John O'Sullivan, Brian Carney etc. It's some of these players who will be contending for the tour to Argentina and the Churchill Cup squads as well.

We all recognise that there is some decent talent at the under-age levels that need game time, and with 5 games still to play, that's plenty to keep them busy and interested.

This has been a very very disappointing season. We all saw the defeat to Leicester coming with the poor performances against Cardiff and Bourgoin, as well as the woeful Magner's league performances (granted, Kidney @@@@SPAN style="font-weight: bold;">never@@@@/SPAN> had a settled squad to pick from due to injuries). So this equally disappointing but warranted defeat to the better team will certainly mark the cards of a number of players.

Cullen, Kelly and Horgan are finished. It seems like Payne and Halsted will be leaving, and I believe that Axel Foley is approaching his final season for Munster. A time of great chance, but equally, with the new names arriving, a time of excitement. Bring it on.

Sticking to the topic - we've 5 ML matches left (2 A & 3 H) and I'd like to see us mix our half-backs on a few occasions, give JOS, T McG, D Ryan, T. Ryan more game time and of course let Carney play in all the matches to bring him up to speed. Mafi needs more time and I'd like to see Diogo get a few games. In fact everyone even the academy players should get some game time between now and our last match in MP.

bringing players through john hayes shouldnt have to play another match for the rest of the season (injury permitting of course), giving carney a few games and trying different people out at fullback

You could try and see this as an opportunity. If you had gone on to glorious defeat in the semi or final or even won the thing people would have been fooled into believing that all was ok in the Munster set-up. Now everyone can clearly see that a rethink is required and some seriously hard calls have to be made. Some of your old favourites have to be shown the door. There's no room for senimentality if you want to realistically have a shot next year.

That said, personally, I'd like for Munster to hang on to Kelly, Cullen, Foley and Horgan. They could really do a job.

What odds that EOS will bring the full first choice Irish pack to Argentina now?

Its defintely worth giving Carney as much game time as possible and why not give him a game or two at fullback.

Sadly it looks as though Christian Cullen has played his last game for Munster...time to turn the page on that one.

Perhaps we need to bring some specialist backs coach as their is a core of players there to work with, do we have a backs coach at the moment?

Aye - i can see you're not a Munster fan - failure in the knockout stages is the Default position of Munster, the victory last year was the aberration.

It's flattering that morons come on this site with your attitude: "Munster have won everything.... like..... for ever!!! Let's remind them what failure is like."

But EVERYONE on this site (Old Dog! Speak up now or f**k off forever) wanted to believe that the victory in Cardiff ADDED something to the players that had been missing for the previous six years . Unfortunately it seems to have taken something away from the team.

I was there in 2000 when we were by far the better team and lost it, tonight we were by far the worst team and lost it, so it's easier to take.

But it's still my team; and it's still hard to take. very, very hard to take.

They were the better team in the QF, the SF and the Final - they deserved to win.

But there can be no doubt that without the hunger, they've been a shadow of last year's team, this season.
