ROG sums it up nicely. He and Quinny are writing the best rugby opinion pieces in the country these days.

Fez will not be playing, earls isn't good enough.
        Schmidt loves Heaslip.
Schmidt wants his flyhalf running the game, not the 9 (not a criticism of Murray, he'll be the 9)
Surely Healy will be in the team?
have to get more Ulster youth in the team. Henderson POC partnership? Love to see Olding involved.

Really looking forward to it. Plenty of young talent available for Schmidt to form a serious team over the next few years.

I'd be optimistic of our chances. Wales will be exhausted, we beat them last year and have them at home.
        France are a mess.
England will be powerful, we just have to match the power and rely on a bit of magic from Sexton/zebo.
Scotland and Italy should be beatable.

Squad looks deeper than its been in a damn long time.

Weight of expectation is as always the most important factor

Thin on experience though but with Wales the only opposition really next year then we've every chance. Its hard to see France ever getting their team together with Kermit in charge.
I always knew Madigan was a closet Scrum Half. Ignore All things that suggest Continuity.

Yeah I was writing tongue in cheek. But mark my words: Muster are back. But I accept Schmidt may not realise it for a season or two.

You are so wrong about Keith Earls it's kind of funny. If Earls stays fit for a full season - and it's been what? three years since that happened - and he gets a run in two positions or less - then he is the most potent creative player in Ireland.

If Penney is what they say he is in NZ, then he will build Munster around Earls.

Fez is back in contract at Ulster - who knows what will happen there but we live in hope.
Healy will be overtaken by Killer, sooner rather than later.
Peter O'Mahony is a better option than Heaslip, hardly controversial - I think we can all agree with that.
Why play Conor Murray if you insist that the 10 gets in his way? But no 9 comes close in a green shirt.

Having said all that I'd be quite happy for Schmidt to pick his Leinster pets and leave Munster to get on with it.

Fez will be lucky if he can get back playing for Ulster. He got a short contract for a reason. Any performances from Ferris from here on is a bonus.
Earls needs to stay fit and stay on the wing. He also needs to work on his passing and defence if he wants to change to 13 longterm. I'd leave him on the wing.

Healy overtaken by Killer? Your having a laugh. One of the best Loose heads in the world at the moment. His an ox and his young. Killer is coming along nicely but his not at Healy's level yet.
Pom at 8? More a 6 in my opinion. Are you basing your opinion on the summer tours against amateurs who wouldnt make a Ail side. As an eight Heaslip is after a good tour but the annoying thing about him is he needs to be pushed to reach his best. I'd expect Jordi Murphy to get a good few games for Leinster at 8 this year while the internationals are away which will give him a push there at least.
Pom needs more games at 8 with Munster ditto Sob with Leinster before we see what they are capable of.

Conor Murray, Great tour and hopefully he can keep on the upward curve of improvement.
When their numbers dwindled from 50 to 8, the other dwarves began to suspect Hungry

It's true though, we have a great front row. The Ireland second row, three massively talented youngster in the back row in CJ, TOD and POM, and then Murray, Zebo & Earls who are matchwinner players. Then Jones, Downey, KCLL, Conway, Hurley, and maybe Heever the Cleaver to come in.
It's gonna be a cracker of a season if they're all fit.

You're bang on with earls, badly need him to get to full fitness and injury free, he's absolutely deadly when he's fit and gets a run of games. fingers crossed he has a good preseason and doesn't come back before he's good and ready, he'll be a very important player for us this year.

dunno about killer overtaking healy just yet, you never know though!

Sigh, I'll take the bait. You're kidding right? Why should he apologize for his opinion? I haven't been here long but I'm actually kind of worried about you. You can't be this starved for any kind of attention surely? I'm so worried, I actually googled the number of the Samaritans for you (1850609090) They're waiting to give you their full attention. Just don't talk about rugby and you'll be grand

Would love to see a big season from Earls. I've seen players before lose their confidence after a couple of stop start seasons and never live up to their full potential. The knives are out for him internationally now but he is still a top class operator on the wing if he gets a bit of luck injury wise.
