Cornish Pirates vs. Munster A - Sunday 7th April 3pm

In all the excitement about the Quins game it's easy to forget that the B&I Cup kicks off again this weekend.

The A's are playing the Pirates away on Sunday in the quarter finals.

As always it is tough to know how many players will be held back in reserve for the firsts to cover potential injuries to guys in the first 23. Although both games are in England they are on at basically the same time so there is no chance of lads "double jobing".

I reckon the team could look like this

    Cronin
    Henry
    Ryan
    Holland
    Nagle
    DOC II
    Ronan
    Stander
    Williams
    Hanrahan
    Murphy
    Bohane
    Barnes
    ROM
    Scanlon

Casey, Cotter, Foley, BOM, Slater, Deasy, Hircock

I'm betting that Marcus will be held back in case a front row goes down and Dinny will travel to London to cover Zebo

Might have Holland with the senior squad too with Ryan's shoulder problem.

Yeah that's a fair point. Could see Henry and John Ryan possibly being held back too to offer specialist cover.

Brian Hayes would likely come into contention if Holland is held back. Niall Scannell and Christy Condon could come onto the bench if they hold back Henry and Ryan

If my tickets for Quins get lost in the fecking post which is becoming a concern I will be heading down for this game. Don't think I could face London knowing there were two empty seats in the ground with my name on and no pass to get to them.

Well given the circumstances, I hope you miss this game ;-)

While Munster line out against Harlequins on Sunday at 2pm, the Ian Costello coached Munster A side play Cornish Pirates an hour later in their British and Irish Cup quarter final.

The sides met in the inaugural final in 2010 at the Recreation Ground in Cambourne and this Sunday Munster face the Pirates at their renovated home ground, the Mennaye Field in Penzance at 3pm.

Colliniho that wouldn't be a bad side, even if some of the players were held back. Bit light on bulk in places, and the Pirates are quite the swarthy (apologies) foes!

Still, here's hoping we approach the game with a bit of swagger (apologies) that our backs can provide and hope JJ et al can make them look a bit peg-legged (sorry, sorry, last one!)

                GWANN MUNSTER
The 'A' desn't matter a fup once you havete jersey on lads, go kick some ass!!

Disclaimer: The following is a joke and is neither meant to cause groans due to its puntastic nature nor put a hex on the team.

Why are the Cornish Pirates going to lose? BECAUSE THEY AAAARRRGHHH.....
                Céard a ceapfá, Jerry?

Munster: S Scanlon; C Hircock, D Barnes, S Deasy, R O’Mahony; JJ Hanrahan, D Williams; J Cronin, S Henry capt, J Ryan; D Foley, I Nagle; Dave O’Callaghan, N Ronan, CJ Stander. Replacements: D Casey, A Cotter, B Hayes, B O’Mahony, G Hurley, C Bohane, J Holland. Some very poor selections from Costello. Why the hell is completely unfit, Connacht-bound Sean Henry even in the squad, let alone starting and captain? Seems like sympathy has more to do with these selections than sense - Scanlon, Deasy, Hircock and Barnes are all off at the end of the season. Duncan Williams should be nowhere near a Munster shirt, at this stage. A far better team would have backline, which is looking forwards not backwards would have been: 15.Holland, 14.Greg O'Shea, 13. Bohane, 12. Rory Scannell, 11. Sweetnam, 10. JJ, 9. Haugh or Slater. The forwards are as expected, but why deals were given to Casey, BOM and ROM defies belief, especially given our financial woes. Letting guys like Rael and Hayes go to retain these AIL sub-standard journeymen is a bad joke told by an idiot.

A backrow that doesn't look considerably weaker than the one facing Harlequins

Disappointed the two games clash, whether I would have got a trip down to Penzance and up to London on the same weekend past herself I doubt but would have been nice to have tried.

                        No major surprises.

With Dougie out Johnne will be in London covering Zebo. Billy isn't involved here in case D Ryan's shoulder isn't right.

I'm a bit surprised to see Deasy picked ahead of Bohane for this, I feel we could do with the extra bit of physicality.

Not beyond us by any means but the Pirates have looked an incredibly physical side any time I've seen them and they have the added advantage of playing together every week. Our lads have had one game together since January.

If we can match them in the front five then we've a decent chance, if they get beaten up then there could be a couple of scores in it sadly.

As I said above, that backline is a complete joke. JJ is the only player with any level of ability, and he'll be lucky if he can deal with the pie-chukkas coming his way. We really need to keep this game upthejumper in the front 8 to have any chance. Our pack is good, but some of the bench options are poor. Gerry Hurly??? Why not just go the whole-AIL hog and pick Mossy Lawlor!

Very strong pack, love the balance in the backrow. My major gripe is with the persistence of playing Deasy at 12/13......he's no where near an inside or outside centre. Bohane at 12 and Barnes at 13 looks a much better combination. Playing Hircock is doing him a favour looking for a club, which the pirates would have to be considered an option for him. I don't mind using the lads that are leaving at the end of the year, you pick your strongest team and i personally think that doesn't contain Henry, pick Casey for dynamism, Deasy, Bohane in for him and i wouldnt have Hircock in there either

Haugh has only played game since a major back injury, would've been surprised to see him there
