Must have thought he'd walk into the Munster side and win more in Limerick. He was wrong on both counts.

Conway was probably a bit underated or maybe he was underperforming a bit until the last few years with Munster?

Not sure there has beeen a better try at Thomond(by home or away team), given its importance, the standard of the oppostion, the time in the game and the fact the ball was sailing over his head into touch - than the one he scored against Toulon in quarters of HCup in 2018?

          Absolutely sensational.

As for Cipriani, he has plenty of issues but the idea that he's not a top class fly half is a stretch. Outside of ROG and Sexton none of our other fly halves in the pro era come anywhere near him.

The top 6 on that list are more accomplished fly halves than Jackson, Madigan, Byrne, Carbery, Paddy Wallace or anyone else we might chuck on that list.

My point is simply that Ireland has produced 2 fly halves in 20 years who'd have been selected as first choice for England. We're not very good at producing fly halves.
Sorry but I have to pull you up on this. Cipriani is and always has been a liability. Hodgeson has gone missing more times than Lassie. He's grand behind a huge Sale pack in their prime but he's a flakey playing. Ryan Lambe... you're having a laugh. To be fair, an untainted Jackson would walk into any premiership team apart from Sarries. Like there are 4 teams in Ireland, vs 12 in England and realistically Wilkinson and Farrell and Rog and Sexton are the only 4 that are truly in the world class bracket.

Rare words of kindness to Dave who has not always been spoken of in such sypmathetic terms in these parts - especially after he disgracefully tried to take POC's foot off with his head.

Maybe he was annoyed that Leinster had shown such a lack of faith in the young Leinster players by having a “Foreign” ( Isa Nacewa ) back-three player in the Leinster squad?

It is perfectly fine for Leinster to bring in Lote Tuqiri, Isa Nacewa, Zane Kirchner and James Lowe and pick them over homegrown back-three players, but Munster sign a non-homegrown player, in a position ( tighthead ) where we have had one first choice Ireland under 20 starter in 10 years and suddenly it’s a cardinal sin. At least this seems to be the logic used by a vocal minority of Leinster fans, masquerading as fair and balanced critique of the Salanoa signing.

I agree with and understand some of the criticism regarding some of our other signings in the last few years, but the criticism of the Salanoa, Snyman and De Allende signings just reeks of jealousy from some Leinster fans that Munster were able to bring in two World Cup winners. These signings are in positions of the squad where the signed players are either significantly better than the starters (i.e. Snyman and De Allende ) or where there is a clear lack of talent coming through the academy ( i.e. tighthead ).

Well, I wasn't including Lambe in that 6.

Cipriani is a better fly half than Jackson every day and twice on Saturdays.

Jackson, untainted, wasn't walking in anywhere. Did Ulster ever have to fend anyone off for his signature? He got 25 Ireland caps in a 7 season provincial career. Madigan got 30 in 3 and "walked into" a Championship side.

And we're not talking about world class. That's the point. ROG, Sexton, Wilkinson and Farrell are clearly a class apart.

                      But Cipriani/Flood/Ford/Hodgson > Jackson/Madigan/Keatley

What’s the statute of limitations on this type of thing, surly 11 years after doing something you can complain about another person doing that thing without being a hypocrite?
“One, Fineen needs to be louder, angrier, and have access to a time machine. Two, whenever Fineen’s not on field, all the other players should be asking 'Where's Fineen?

Cipriani is great to watch on the attack, but his defense is suspect, and that's being generous. I'd put Ford up there with Farrell in terms of attacking skill. Lets not forget that Farrell plays for two teams who are rampant rule breakers on the pitch. Proper refereeing would see Saracens and England play drastically different styles of rugby. If the NH game is reffed like they're doing it in NZ, that blitzing England defense is gone (b/c it is always offside), all the illegal bull**** at the breakdown is gone in attack and defense(they can't just bully teams by blasting them at the ruck and they can't slow the ball down in various illegal ways), all the cheap shot shoulder tackles will be called and carded, Itoje will be a penalty machine if he keeps playing the way he does(every maul sees some absurdly illegal defending, he's constantly launching himself at breakdowns) It is going to be a different world and they're the NH team that will be most affected by it, imo b/c they had to do that stuff to win.
