'No Show' Charity Game - Thomond Park - 5th. June

    Hi Folks,

Great innovative charity 'No Show' game being organised by Shannon Rugby Club in Thomond Park on Saturday 5th. June @ 8pm. Objective is to sell out Thomond Park (& enter the Guinness Book of Records) and raise €260,000 for frontline charities @ €10/ticket. This would be the biggest sale of tickets for a 'No Show' event ever. The Teams will be 'Best Limerick Rugby players ever vrs. the 'Best' Irish team ever. It's a very creative charity idea to help raise funds for very deserving frontline charities. The link below tells you all about it and how to buy a ticket/donate on line. Please support!

I like the sound of this.
"There are a lot of points that we’ve left behind and this is with a young group. That probably tells you what they’re capable of and that they’re a very good side.

Probably next year or the year after next they will take some stopping"

Yeah, it's a fun thing that will hopefully raise very much needed funds for great charities. Jerry Flannery, Duncan Casey etc. involved. Even the lights in Thomond Park will be switched on for the 'Non-Event'. Top rugby people will pick the 'Virtual Teams' - that should be interesting. Maybe they can get Guinness to sponsor 'Virtual' Pints' , sell a virtual souvenir programme or maybe auction off the right to be the Referee - loads of opportunities to expand/build on the idea to boost funds. It's an idea that could be replicated at other venues - i.e. Pairc Ui Chaoimh - 'Best' Cork hurling team vrs. the 'Rest' of Ireland?? By the way, when you donate you will get an email and you can print off your ticket as a souvenir!!!

On a different note (I didn't see the need to start a new thread), - On this Day in 2006 Munster won the H-Cup for the 1st. time. 85 great photos published today by the Limerick Leader. Link below, for a trip down memory lane!

Come on Lads and Lassies! Great Charity causes - we don't need a 'Half-Empty' Stadium for this Non-Event we need a 'Full-Empty' Stadium!
