Am I right in thinking that Munster have never lost when we have started Murray, Carbery and Farrell? Surely we are unstoppable as long as we have the three of them starting all future HEC games?

      Too much?

Our form has been patchy although improved of late against limited opposition. We're not quite sure how good we are this season.

Compare us now to when we lost the semi last season (assuming 2 changes from the last game, CJ and Joey) We'll start Ryan for Archer, Beirne for Kleyn and Cloete for JOD in the forwards - and Joey in for Keats, Haley in for Wootton and Farrell in for Sammy in the backs.

I don't see a huge improvement in the forwards but our backs look a bit more potent. Joey and Murray have done a bit of work together so should gel well and Farrell made a big impact last week. JVG should be making his mark by now, too.

This is our first big challenge at home and the French Champions will surely put it up to us. Looks like tough conditions on Sunday and that should help. I'd expect a narrow win but wouldn't be , shocked if we come up short. Either way, we should know come Sunday Afternoon if we are genuine contenders this season.

                Friday morning.
                Hard to beat it.
                Who's in?
                Who's on the bench?
Who's flying in training unbeknownst to us?
                Gets me going every time!

                  Disturbing lack of bibwatch.

Has Cowboy found himself another hobby?

Jeremy Loughman has replaced James Cronin in the CC list (due to injury) Loughman has impressed with his 'all-action' style - he's got a year contract extension - It's always nice to see young lads respond well to a knock-back. We are getting a big no of ex-Leinster players making their mark here.

ROG was very impressed with Farrell v Edinburgh and thinks if we get a bit of luck, we might contend this year - Encouraging to hear that from a good judge.

JVG says Sweets isn't a long-term absentee - it's week to week but he's out for Sunday.

The next 2 weeks will be bruising encounters and if we can avoid major injuries, we'll be in good shape.

The strength-in-depth is also a major plus - we're missing some quality players right now (Marshall, Klyen, Cronin, TOD, JOD, Sweets, Goggin) but we'll still have a very strong squad for Sunday. We're not at Leinster's level but we're going in the right direction.

Frankly this is all a mere formality before we get the chance to slap the heads of the blue magoo's on the 29th. God we owe them a hiding so bad.

A bit of perceived slight can breed just the right amount of bitterness to focus the mind and make you want to prove a point. We love a bit of hard graft and bitterness.

Third choice front row on the bench, hopefully job is done when they're introduced. Any word on the Castres team?
