        we're looking at flying from Dub to Bournemouth pick up our girls and then fly Southampton to Geneva,

          Flying to Lyon from Shannon via Stanstead (long wait there) for €135 return each. Renting a Space wagon between 6 or 7 of us for 4 days for €269 (plus €30 for a second driver) plus whatever diesel we use. Not too bad overall. Hotel coming in at €45 a night B&B

              Booked Shannon-Milan on the Friday, train to Geneva, then Geneva to Stansted on Monday, & Stansted to Shannon.

                Viigand - how long does the train take to get there?Had a quick look at that option but it was looking like 7 or 8 hours.

                      Its about 4 or 4 1/2 hours. Haven't actually booked that leg of it yet, as if there are enough going in the gang, we might hire a car. Cost is about €55 one way with this crowd:
