Through to the Quarter Final

According to the almighty Sky, we are through to the Quarter's ... five wins out of five is as good as it's ever been. Great credit to the team and the team behind the team. So where do we go from here? A home draw means that Munster choose which part of perfidious Albion to play in? Shure as Uncle Bing used to sing, how could you buy Killarney.
Time for your medicine.

A scatttered helter skelter performance today but at least we are in the last 8. A defeat by less than 8 will probably be enough next week, although I think they will go for the win

We also need to take a greatchance toeliminate Leicester from the competition. The less big names floating around the better as the q/f's loom.

Full Blown Munster next weekend without a doubt. It's easy to feel pride in this team, if only they had a pitch to play on.

Why didn't we see full blown Munster today?

What we saw was netball/pass the parcel wanabees.

Bit harsh, tried something didn't always work but still won the match 3/3 away from home not bad for wanabee pass the parcellers

I m just watching Sky and they are NOT showing Musnter as through to the Q. They are only showing Biarrits, Llanelli & Leinster. ???? This weems accurate if Leicester by some dreadful nitghtmare were to beat us next week we'd not qualid=fy automatically as pool winners

SKy currently NOT showing M as through to qf - seems accurate though, as we don;t wualify automatically until we win the pool - + nightmare scenario Leicester beating us next week would mean they could win

Are we through?

Leinster, Llanelli are through as table toppers and no-one else in their group will get through.

Biarritz are through but could be the 7th placed team with Saints topping Pool 6.

This would leave only one other Pool runner up through.

Would this give us the runner up place in Pool 4 if we were beaten by Leicester?

I think we are through.

Pool 1
Wasps 19 points
Castres 15

Pool 2
Leinster 20
SU Agen 13

Pool 3
Stade 17
Ospreys 16
Sale 15

Pool 4
Munster 22
Leicester 19

Pool 5
Llanelli 23
Tolouse 13

Pool 6
Biarritz 25
Northampton 20

Northhampton are the only other team that can get more than 22 points and come second. So we have one of the best loser spots as it stands

From those numbers it would seem that we will definitely be one of the 2 best 2nd place teams should the unthinkable happen next weekend. Sky announced after the ospreys vs stade draw today that munster were definitely qualified and they wouldn't normally make such statements unless they were pretty sure.

Yes indeed, Munster have clinched a place in the quarter final. I was also thinking about the scenarios for next week and...

Munster win the pool with a win or draw (obviously). If Leicester win without earning a bonus point and Munster earn two bonus points, Munster would finish ahead of Leicester.

If Leicester win and Munster earn exactly one more bonus point than the
Tigers, the two will be level on either 23 or 24 points, and would also
be level on the first tiebreaker of head-to-head competition points.
The next tiebreaker, head-to-head tries, would then go to the club
which scored the most tries in their Round 6 match, as both scored a
try apiece in their Round 1 encounter. If the teams score the same
number of tries, the tiebreaker would then go to head-to-head points.
In that instance, Leicester would finish atop the pool if their margin
of victory is 2 points or more. A win by 3 points or more would give
Leicester the edge in head-to-head points, while a 2-point Leicester
win would trigger the next tiebreaker of overall point difference,
which would go to Leicester.
