Nearly finished but there may be some excitement left yet.

It's not very exciting, really but here's my version of it.

    • Ulster, Leicester, Toulouse, Leinster,Clermont, Toulon and Munster have qualified for the Quarter Finals, The latter five as Pool winners.
    • The other Pool winners will be Ulster or Leicester.
    • Saracens have qualified in second in Pool Three.
    • Whichever of Ulster or Leicester that does not win Pool 5 will get the last second place spot.

    Perpignan 5 1 0 4 94 122 -28 8 14 1 2 7
Sunday 12:45 Munster v Edinburgh Perpignan v Gloucester

    Munster have won the Pool.

Second place is between the other three teams.

Perpignan must get five points and hope that Edinburgh get none. Any other result combination is of no use to them.

Gloucester only need to match Edinburgh’s total, having won the Head to head 5-4. If they get 5, Edinburgh must get 2 or fewer. If they get four, Edinburgh must get one or none. If they get three, Edinburgh must get none. If they get two or fewer, they cannot get second place.

Edinburgh must stay ahead of Gloucester to keep second place. Any win or a three point draw will do. If they get two points, Gloucester must only get four points or fewer. If they get one, Gloucester must only get three or fewer. If they get none, Gloucester must get two or fewer and Perpignan mustn’t get five.

As shown in the last column in each Pool Table, The Team rankings are:

    P Points Tries PD
    1 Toulouse 6 23 16 80
    2 Ulster 5 22 16 114
    3 Leinster 6 22 16 86
    4 Toulon 5 20 15 59
    5 Clermont 5 19 13 45
    6 Munster 5 18 13 52
    7 Saracens 6 20 29 141
    8 Leicester 5 20 15 50
    9 Northampton 6 17 11 3
    10 Cardiff 5 13 9 -23
    11 Edinburgh 5 12 10 -5
    12 Harlequins 5 12 9 21
The Quarter finals, therefore would line up:

    Toulouse v Leicester
    Ulster v Saracens
    Leinster v Munster
    Touloun v Clermont

with Northampton, Cardiff, and Edinburgh going into the Amlin.

But, of course this will change, substantially, today and tomorrow.

      Thanks for this!

Essentially I'm supporting Glasgow, Zebre and Racing this weekend (and obviously Munster).

The race for a Home QF.

Any win or draw will get Ulster a home QF.
A 2-4 loss would also do.
Any other result would leave Ulster in second place as seventh seed and away to the second seed in the Quarter finals.

In the latter case, Leicester will win Pool Five and will get a home Quarter Final.

        Toulon have a home QF.

Toulouse have a home QF unless both of the following happen:
        • Clermont get five points or four getting three tries and winning by 36.
        • Munster get five points.

Five points will get Clermont a home QF.

Four or three points will be enough unless Munster get five points

To get a home Quarter Final, Munster must pass out two of the teams above them.

As stated above, they cannot pass out whoever wins Pool Five.

Five Points will get Munster a Home QF

Four Points would only be enough if:
          • Munster get three tries and win by 35 points or more. AND
          • Clermont get two points or fewer.

Three points or fewer would be no good

Leinster will get a home QF if both of the following happen:

          • Clermont get two points or fewer.
          • Munster get three points or fewer or four points and scoring two tries or fewer or scoring three tries and winning by fewer than 34

The Race for the last second place spot.

Whoever loses out for the top spot in Pool Five will get one of the second place spots. This will be Ulster on 22, 23 or 24 or Leicester on 20, 21, 22, 23, or 24. If it's Ulster, they will be the seventh seeds. If it's Leicester, they will be seventh seeds unless they get no points and Saracens get five and don't win Pool three.

In the (very very very) unlikely event of Toulouse failing to get a point in Parma, and Saracens getting five points against Connacht to win Pool Three, Toulouse would get the last second place spot on 19 points and be the eighth seeds.

For Connacht to qualify, they must get five points and then Cardiff mustn't get five points unless Connacht score three tries more than Cardiff or two tries more and maintaining their PD advantage (35 at present)

Four points or fewer are no good to Connacht.

If they get four points, they will qualify for the Amlin unless all of the following happen:
                  • Cardiff get five points or four unless Connacht score three tries more than Cardiff or two tries more and maintaining their PD advantage (35 at present).
                  • Edinburgh get five points unless Connacht get four tries more than Edinburgh or three tries and maintain their PD advantage (17 at present)
                  • Harlequins get five points unless Connacht get three tries more than Harlequins or two tries and overturn the PD advantage of 9 in Harlequins favour.

If Connacht get five points and don't qualify for the QF, they will qualify for the Amlin.

Fantastic work there Piquet, but one thing, If Clermont get 4 points and we get 5 we automatically go above them don't we? As far as I can see we're both on the same number of tries scored so if we get the bonus we'll be ahead of them on tries scored.

Piquet, could you do the same work for home quarter in Amlin Cup please ?

Just joking. Fantastic work. Many thanks.
