Have they started suggesting having north and south Dublin again yet?

Was listening to some of the Dubs players being interviewed this morning. One good thing about ths Dubs winning is that sentences are not started with the phrase "Lookit". Mind you it seems to have been replaced by "Yeah, No".

Pointless, they'd meet in the Leinster and All Ireland finals.

Tyrone decide to play Colm Cavanagh at the edge of the square, only issue was they waited 68 minutes to give
him an opportunity to win the ball. Penalty Tyrone.

Yesterday was a fitting end to a terrible football championship. Apart from the Dubs, other teams are coached
out of playing a foot pass and its like basketball on grass. Negative in the extreme.

News just out, JP is donating 100k to each county board to be divided equally to each GAA club.
Well done. Once divvied our it might not be much for each club but every euro counts, now to see if any other of the billionaires or millionaires in other counties follow his lead.

Sure hasn't Denis given over 10million to the FAI? and Micko paid 70 odd million in Taxes, while JP counts his money in Switzerland

Cormac Byrne of the Indo makes a good point, IMO.

The Mayo County board continue to plumb the depths. The club has been excluded from the McManus money share out. No reason given but most think it's because the County board thinks hurling is a waste of time.

From Ballyvary Hurling Club Facebook Page
In reply to the overwhelming response, messages of support and queries received in relation to the Mayo GAA allocation of the JP McManus funding, we would like to offer the following clarification.
Ballyvary Hurling Club await a written response as to why we were excluded from the donation given by JP McManus to the Mayo County Board. We have been informed that it was a decision and not an omission or error on the part of the County Board. Without speculating any further as to the “Why” we will allow the Mayo County Board the opportunity to explain their decision making process on the matter.
What we can confirm is that there are 50 GAA Clubs listed on the Mayo GAA Website. 48 of those clubs were notified on Thursday September 27th last that they would each be receiving a sum of €2083.34, an equal division of the €100,000 donation from JP McManus to be paid by EFT in the coming week. The two clubs listed on the Mayo GAA website that the Mayo County Board did not allocate any of the funding to were Ballyvary Hurling Club and Caiseal Gaels. Both clubs are hurling clubs directly involved with the promotion of Gaelic games at an underage level in Mayo, participated in County Board ran competitions in 2018 up to U21 level and were host clubs for the national Feile na nGael competition held in Connacht in June this year.

As a small, rural club in central Mayo a windfall of €2,000 would have had a huge impact on our ability to deliver the best possible coaching to the most important asset of our club – the children aged 5-14 who turn up every week with smiles on their faces to try and improve their skills, make new friends and have fun in a safe and positive environment.
We await a written response from Mayo GAA on the matter.

Is it time to take my limerick flag down after the hurling ? Too soon ?

No, Mush. You keep that flag up 'till it falls down by itself.

Watching the Dublin County Final on TNaG. Isn't it great to see all the young fellas and young ones out on the field at Halftime .

Mind yoy, the inability/unwillingness of the teams to kick points from out the field is annoying.

The Barrs were at that, yesterday down the Páirc but won, directly as a result of Duhallow's short Kick-outs. They conceded 1-2 from fouled up kick-off outs and lost by a goal.
Another of my pet hates in the modern game.

Jude's have started the second half with a shoot when appropriate policy whereas Crokes have just gone back from 30 odd yards out from the Jude's goal to their own half.
they're only two points up with over ten to go so what's that all about?

Paul Mannion has been different class for Kilmacud. He's a superb player. Club football and hurling titles south of the river this year.
