The Stretford End - 19

Where to start? Well I suppose I could post a few pictures from a few seasons ago like Point did in the Bootroom, but how about the current league table instead:

You could always post a few pictures of bandwagon jumping woolies carrying their bags from the Megastore on their twice in a lifetime trip to Salford to see Old Trafford and England's second most successful team. You know the type. Pointing up whenever an aeroplane flies over and gazing in wonder at any building over three stories high. Yes, I'm absolutely certain you know the type.

Good start to the season for united but a few injurys and united are in real trouble. It is looking good at the moment and long may it continue but lets stay calm, it is still early and we have a long way to go.

In saying that I must say that Chelsea have taken a few steps backwards in my opinion. Went to see their game against Portsmouth a few weeks ago (company tickets, would never pay to see them play!!) and was totally and utterly shocked by how poor they were against a average Portsmouth. The only thing that is going for them at the moment is their ability to carve out results, which is a pretty useful thing to be able to do. Personally I cannot see them winning the league and Arsenal are faultering again, so if United can maintain this run of form it is looking possible.

Chelsea are an overrated team, they play ugly football and bully teams off the pitch, the most malignant part of that tactic is that it works andother teams have started to copy it. A league victory for United(however premature it is to talk about this) would be a victory for football.

It is encouraging but they will hit a slump so enjoy this while it lasts.

I only sat down to watch my recording of the Pompey game today and the ease with which United won was a tribute to Alex Ferguson and the ethos and work ethic the great man has brought to the club. The current team is the third he has built, and while not yet as successful as the '94 team or the '99 team they still attack with theflair and hunger of thier more illustrious predecessors. His drive and determination to win have not dimmed one bit.

Thanks for a great 20 years Fergie.

I dont think any team will compare to the 99 team, although I would
take Louis and Rooney. Fergie is a hero, please god he can get that 2nd

No need for him to get it as he can take a quick trip up to Anfield to see it 7 days a week...

But hearing all those northern accents would confuse the man. Far better for him to stay at Old Trafford and meet his loyal fans from Kent, Avon and Dorset.
There are only two roads, victory for the working class, freedom, or victory for the fascists which means tyranny. Both combatants know what\'s in store for the loser.

Agree with you epaddy, would love to see the CL back at OT,but cannot honestly see it this year or next, I think. A bit more building and experience needed for that.

Need someone in midfield and in my opinion need another striker cause if anything happens to Saha or Rooney we are in trouble, big time.

As Liverpool and Porto proved, you dont have to be a great side to win
the CL. And the current Utd side are much better then either of those
teams were. Imo the quality of the CL is not the same as 4 or 5 years
ago. Utd have a great chance and with a bit of luck can do it. The
                            Premiership would be sweeter though
