    Tony Grealish

I just wanted to mention the passing of Tony Grealish from cancer at the age of 56. People of a certain age will remember him labouring in midfield for Ireland, especially during Eoin Hand's era. I remember him as a small, tigerish, bearded midfielder. He wasn't the greatest player to don the green jersey but he was one of the most committed. I believe he won 45 caps back when caps were hard to come by (Liam Brady picked up 70 odd) He captained Ireland and also Brighton & HA during their 1983 run to the FA cup final.

Although not a Munster man, in many ways he embodied what we aspire to - always battling against the odds.

Remember him playing. Always gave 100%, always had time for the fans. RIP

Saw him many times playing for Ireland a very strong aggressive midfielder in the Billy Bremner / Archie Gemmel mode RIP
