All out for 197, Australia win by 185 runs, take a 2-1 lead in the series with one Test left and, therefore, retain The Ashes.

It was a bit closer than I expected but losing Roy and Stokes just before lunch tipped the game in Australia's favour. Once they were 7 down with more than 30 overs left it was very very unlikely that the tail could survive that long. Justice was done, Australia have deserved their success.

Australia are much the better side. Apart from the good old Atlantic weather blowing in and Ben Stokes wonder innings it was always the Aussies looking stronger. Joe Root once again being his usual after the match and not once recognising the winners or acknowledging their victory.
He's a guy who gets up at six o'clock in the morning regardless of what time it is.

Australia won the toss yesterday and put in England who would have batted had they won the toss so there really was no need for a toss at all.

Anyway, England were 271 fo 8 at the close.

They made a further 23 this morning. Cricinfo are wondering will Smith get more than that himself when his turn comes.

Australia's opener Warner has scored runs for the first time since the first innings of the Third Test but as I type, he's out for five. 5 for 1 after eleven balls.

EDIT Australia 55 for 2 at Lunch, both openers gone.

Oz 147/4 at tea. Assuming they don't collapse (or put on a huge stand) this game could be close. I wouldn't fancy Australia to get anything near 300 in the 4th innings. So, England well in it.

Bur Smith is still there. They could get 500 or so first knock if he stays in.

Well...you turn your back and all hell breaks lose.

Smith is out for 80, his lowest score of the Series, Australia are all out for 225 and England make it to the close, 9 for none having narrowly missed losing three wickets.

Likely having retained the ashes Oz has lost a bit of an edge - when they had England at about 200 for 7 they slipped up allowing the tail to get that to 300. Outside of Smith their batting is shaky on English wickets and with England looking likely to set them more than 300 to chase I think at this point Oz are doomed in this test,

Denly out, six short of his maiden Test Century.

Caught at slip via the 'keeper's thigh.

                              222 for 4, 291 ahead.
