Foakes and Ali put on 83 for the seventh wicket but England lost their last four wickets for nine runs to be all out for 187.

The West Indies openers put their heads down in the face of some hostile bowling and were still there at the close having scored 30 in 21 overs.

At the same stage in their innings, England were 62 for 4

If the wicket does settle down on the 2nd day after a good heavy rolling and the WI can get 300+ they have a great chance of a series win. It was doing a lot when England batted and from your comments I assume it was the same for the WI batting. WI won the toss and put them in so you have to assume they know how that wicket will play. Good to see the WI showing a bit of grit for once.

Yes, the pitch was lively enough for the WI innings and a lot of deliveries were being described as "unplayable" by the commentators.

It seems the WI openers applied themselves better and rode their luck at times.

A wicket for England might have led to a few more, but the openers did their job.

They have it all to do again this morning against an England attack that has had a good night's rest.

At Lunch, the West Indies are 126 for 1. The openers made a further 40 this morning

Scoring has sped up, they made 95 in 29 overs in the morning session.

                WI are 272 for 6, 85 ahead.

Darren Bravo has scored 33 from 163 balls.

England could have done with some of that.

Main banana skin now is batting last on dodgy wicket.

West Indies all out for 306, a lead of 119. Bravo eventually got his 50 but was out, stumped ( for the first time in a Test Match) two balls later.

He took 340 minutes and faced 216 balls, the longest to a 50 ever by a West Indian batsman.

England have 15 minutes to bat before Lunch.

                      119. If Engerland get 250 I wouldn't trust the Windies to get 132 but expect England get no more than 170/180

Could be all out (England) for 100 if WI get really into them.

Well West Indies will have to bat again, but not for long.

England are 125 for 9, six ahead.

England are all out for 132.

West Indies need 14 to win.
