298 for 5 at Tea, 307 for five as I type. 157 more needed in 30 odd overs.

That's some performance when you consider that of India's six specialist batsmen, four of them have scored 1 run between them.,( Rahul, the opener has 143 no, Rahane was out for 37 and the 'keeper has 109 no.)

Say what you like about England but they don't do many boring tests matches. Rashid and Jennings look to have played their way out of the test team for Sri Lanka.

Rashid removes Rahul for 149. 325 for 6, 139 needed.

Incredible delivery in fairness to him. Let's hope the Indians go full T20 mode and start swinging the bat chasing boundaries.

Pant is gone now. 328 for 7. The tail will have to get the remaining 136. Cricinfo reckon there are at least 23 overs left.

Suddenly, after what has seemed like chanceless things are really happening.

Things are looking up for New Zealand's Black Caps. They were all out for 249 leaving Pakistan 175 to win. Things were looking bad at 154 for five but NZ skittled the last five for 17 to win by four.

Pakistan have form with- unusual results, third closest test win of all time.

Needing 21 to win with 5 wickets left...................the odds on a NZ win would have been up at 80/1 - 100/1 and rising with every non wicket ball. Massive profits there with big bets on a NZ win. I think Pakistan are actually stupid enough to throw it so blatantly. Doubtless the powers will be examining betting patterns and the actual dismissals closely. 3 ducks and the not out batsman also scoreless. Hmmm

A mighty game comes to a close tomorrow in Abu Dhabi.

In the third and deciding test, New Zealand are 272 for 4, 198 ahead.

It's a real, old-fashioned Test Match. The run rates in the first three Innings have been 2.36, 2.58 and 2.62 respectively.

The current NZ pair have put on 212 for the fifth wicket in 80.1 overs.

A delicate balance between setting a target that's too easy and one that's so big that Pakistan would stonewall needs to be struck. Say score 50 in the first hour leaving 249 to win in two and a half sessions or 75 overs.

New Zealand put on a quick 81 before declaring to leave Pakistan 280 in 80 overs.

They fell well short, being all out for 156.

It was New Zealand's first away series win against Pakistan in 49 years.

Funny ol' game in Wellington at the moment. New Zealand won the toss, put Sri Lanka in and had them all out for 282.

They then made 578 with Latham making 264 no. Day 4 began with Sri Lanka on 20 for 3, 276 behind.

Well, for the first time ever on New Zealand soil and the first time anywhere since 2008, not a wicket fell in a full day's play.

Sri Lanka are 259 for 3, 37 behind and a full day's rain is forecast for tomorrow.

Missed that- must have a read. Really hope Sri Lanka get the runs- with Oz coming back at India it could be a great ashes this summer.

Only 13 overs were possible today during which Sri Lanka made 28 runs without loss. They took an early Lunch but no more play was possible because of rain. Match Drawn.

I forgot to mention yesterday that Latham of New Zealand "carried his bat" . He opened the Innings and was still there, not out when the last wicket fell.
