Entered in a 3 mile HC in Huntingdon on thursday as well. But Gwanako is in that one as well. Still got 3 more weeks until the festival so could get him qualified. I will try and find something out Benny about where they are with him and the bug and get back to you.

If this lad goes for the Foxhunters he will have a mighty chance of winning. In his prime he was rated well into the 150's and he is also already a festival winner. Indeed assuming the distance doesn't stop him I can't see him being beaten. Currently he is about 8/1. I hate betting ante-post but I am considering doing this tonight before that price gets squeezed.

Edit....just to add this lad is only 8 so he could actually get back to or above his previous standard if he buys into the game again fully.

This would indicate he has qualified?

You see some right old stagers in those hunters chases. Saw Gwanako winning like a buck there at the weekend! Decent option for these horses who are handicapped out of winning for most of their career but fall below graded standard

Couldn't get your link up Bobbin but these conditions are obviously not clear cut because Gordon Elliot is no fool!!! Haven't spoken to my contact yet re Barber/ Nicholls horses. See Chapoturgeon not running today either. Should be interested really as I am going to Cheltenham on Gold cup day but I normally miss the Foxhunters out and get a drink and just watch.

Mafi won hope someone backed it, looks a bit of a tricky ride. 20-1 FFS.

I backed the lad that came second ew at 9/1 but had the rev forcast with Mafi. Its was very close . Paid 151 euro for the forecast. Im glad i went to the bank to lodge some of the winnings.

It was a small field and there was money for Legendary so I did him in a forcast with all the runners par the fav.

Great news Benji, I am pleased someone backed Mafi. Wonder what the double with Lefemi to be first try scorer tonight would have paid?

Anyone know of books that explain the horse racing industry? Im doing a programmingcourse at the moment and I figured a horse racing gameshouldnt be too difficult to program (limited pathfinding andlimited AI needed). Im currently reading Stud: Adventures inBreeding buta guide or documetation of how the industry is run, the differencesbetween the races and what goes on in getting a horse ready and what happens in a race would be great. I have a history in the horse industry butdont know the details of the racing industry.
I know something that will blow your minds. I can't tell you and I can't tell you why I can't tell you. You'll know soon and then I'll be confirmed right.

Cheers Paddy, biogs seem to be the main literary output of the horse racing industry, and after that: betting guides. That book I'm reading is interesting, but it doesn't have a lot of details, it's more like a book length newspaper feature piece than something aimed for giving a guide of what actually goes on. I've looked through every book available for the Kindle on horse racing, but nothing applies. I figure there must be some book, or even a blog that has what I'm looking for.

Also, I'm going to give a look at that new drama starring Dustin Hoffman, "Luck." I figure I might pick up some inspiration from that, at least on the "make the game entertaining" side of things.

Obviously that will be for American racing and the sport varies massively from country to country. If you go onto the racingpost, they have trainer blogs which might be of interest. Think Emma Lavelle does one and she knows what she is about.
