Presumably off camera Ruby is giving him a wtf look so Ted corrects it to say Michael Johnson who, of course, never jumped a hurdle either.

Supasundae won the race from Wicklow Brave.
Min must have been wrecked after running 4th in the Champion Chase on Tuesday too ha ha!

    Melon you mean I presume?!

Fractured sternum for Danny Mullins (who was on the leader Debuchet). Nasty looking incident.

And Katie Walsh retiring. Surprised at that.
Fantastic way for her to go out. A winner at Punchestown for Willie Mullins beating Barry Geraghty by a nose in a driving finish.

Some career she's had. 2 Grade 1s. 3 Cheltenham Festival wins. An Irish Grand National win. Highest ever finish for a female in Aintree Grand National (3rd). Not as good a jockey as Nina but the two of them changed the game for female jockeys in this country.

I'm guessing she may want to start a family now?

Apples Jade was in season last time and should turn the tables easily enough.

Fancy Colms Dream 25/1 in second race. 2 spins this season with the run last time being a lovely spin. Second in this last year and coming here a fresh horse. Small saver on Aetic Pearl.

Aidan off to a flyer as Saxon Warrior wins the 2000 Guineas.

Now he has 4 going tonight in Churchill Downs including Mendelssohn in the Kentucky Derby.

Indeed - A disaster. To be fair the sloppy ground would not have helped but it goes to show that Europeans trying to take on America in their classics have a monumental task. The Kentucky Derby is, and will always be, the ultimate classic. You need a horse with class but also you need a horse who is as tough as anything. Justify looks a superstar. I backed Audible and he ran well to finish third, almost snatching second on the line, but Justify is a level higher. He looks like he has no weakness and you'd fancy him to have a right go at the triple crown.

Anyway back on more familiar territory today Aidan will be fancying his chances to add the 1000 Guineas with Happily who is currently about 5/2 favourite.

Is Saxon Warrior worth opposing in the Derby?

Thought Ryan should have pushed Saxon more forward from the break, being second last caused that position on the rail, when Ryan wanted to get out the instant acceleration he thought was there was not, 3 horses contrived to hem him in and Ryan had to wait when eventually got out in the open he ran on at same pace gaining nothing on front three.

On reflection maybe Ryan should have stayed on the inside, think he would then have been closer but he was only 5 lengths behind the winner.

Just watching the 3:35 from Goodwood. Bataash started at 8/11 and showed exactly how an odds-on favourite should win.
