What is even more impressive is the fact that all Bilboa players are local from the Basque region, they are the only team in the world with a ban on foreigners, if you arent Basque you wont play for them and they kicked Utd of the pitch last night. I thought it was the best display of passing football I've seen in years and for once there was a refreshing honesty about their play, good and physical with no theatrics or messing.

The comparisons between United's first goal and Bilbao's third are striking. Both came from a close-range shot that was parried by the 'keeper with the ball rolling out from goal. Both featured a United player (Park and Raphael respectively) standing, rooted to the spot as the scorer (Rooney and Muniain respectively) ran in to strike. Is there some sort of gavitational anomaly at the corner of the six-yard box at the scoreboard end in Old Trafford?

        United struggle without Howard Webb.

Bayern 7-0 tonight, new record for margin of victory in a knockout stage. Really staggering how good some of the superpowers are at the moment. Wouldn't shock me if Real Madrid joined the party tomorrow with a big win.

Gomez 72 goals in 72 matches. There are some phenomenal scoring records going on at the minute. Throw in Messi, Ronaldo, and RVP and they are all on goal a game.

              English FA in xenophobic shocker.

"England gave the world football. It gave the best legacy anyone could give. We gave them the game," said Richards.
"Then, 50 years later, some guy came along and said, you're liars, and they actually stole it. It was called Fifa."

He added: "Fifty years later, another gang came along called Uefa and stole a bit more."

When suggestions were made that the game could have originated in China, Richards replied in a raised voice: "It started in Sheffield 150 years ago. We started the game and wrote the rules and took it to the world. The Chinese may say they own it but the British own it and we gave it to the rest of the world."

I used to find the British denial of their modern day irrelevance entertaining wishful thinking but its approaching pathetic disillusion at this stage.

The difference between Messi and Drogba, is like the difference between Mother Theresa and Hitler. Drogba is a ****in joke

Chelsea rode the ref all night tonight, diving all over the place, hassling the ref at every turn, slowing down the game with time wasting over and over when it suited them. Napoli taught a lesson in gamesmanship tonight.

Hope Chelsea draw one of the big teams, would love to see them on the receiving end of a big score. Which they would be, English sides so far behind the top teams these days.

Real or Barca who throw up a cricket score on them, would love to see Terry's face with Ronaldo or Messi running at him and to see Drogba diving like a little girl
