Has the magic gone?

Anyone else think something hasn't quite moved across with the new site. It looks great, can't fault the features, yet the soul appears to be lacking. No zip, no spark . . can't put my finger on it.

Is it possible to go into the last page of a thread btw rather than the front?

I blame a combination of the Mexican wave on Saturday and SAD - itleavesme craving sunshine and cold beers.

    Less messy maybe .

No worries, you will get accustomed to it. I think the overall quality of discussions is better.

        Less crap being discussed,

Much better quality boards and the chat function on the home page is superb. Saves on running threads on matches etc.!

I like the fact that, initial reception aside, the main topic of conversation has ceased to be the state of the site itself. Things got terribly navel gazing before.

The chatroom of the chatroom has cleared much of the rubbish from the
threads. Overall the quality of what's posted as a result has improved.

I like the new site. Bravo!

I donno about the magic - but I'm spending a lot more time on the site now than I did before.
Computer games don't affect kids, I mean if Pac Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music.

I always crave sunshine and cold beers, does that make me SAD?

I think everyone is scared of the new scary mod team with their cold, dead eyes and sharp-pointy banning sticks so we're doing our best to stay on-message, on-topic and on top of everything and taking all the off-message, off-topic and under-the-table stuff to the chatty.

There is a serious lack of WUMs & Munster V Leinster discussion.

Not sure I like the chat room, used to enjoy reading the runnng match threads after a match. is there a way to read old chat conversations?

What was the reason for the change anyway? I don't notice a whole lot of difference to be honest. A bit like Mark1v. Mark 2, snazzier and probably better. Where are all the lunatics? Or was this the reason for the new site?

There's a lot more functionality on the new site - the chatroom keeps threads tidier, which is probably the main benefit seen up to now.

But I think we're barely scratching the surface at the moment - looking at the potential for user generated content, match reviews, blogs etc etc it has the potential to become a far broader entity than the old site, which was essentially a forum with some other bits that didn't get updated very often.

The technical whizzes have built a great deal of capacity into the site from what I can see - utilising that is down to everyone who uses it.
