Agreed, but not for 3 or 4 months.

Have we worked together in the past?

Actually, the Christmas party is the best bit about Christmas for me nowadays. Everyone making a complete show of themselves in public, and the only consolation is everyone is in the same boat so there's no one to laugh!

Ours is in Barcelona this year, yippee!

I'd love to do just that.......will check it out.

Rather early start and a late late arrival, but it's astonishing value.

We are thinking of having our Christmas party there. Are BOplaying that week-end?

          Nope - they're playing inBorders.

They host Borders on 17/12/06 - bound to be a sell out!

I went to Spain in October - left the UK it was summer, came back a week later, still only mid-October and the Christmas deccos were up. I can feel the stress levels rising already. I used to love Christmas - seeing family, decorating the house & tree etc but now I dread it, there seems to be such a lot of pressure.

I was disturbed by the collapse of Farepack over here - not that I don't think the people shouldn't save for Christmas or get the money back that's been stolen from them - but it was the amount of money, thousands in some cases, that they were prepared to spend. And having lost the money, some of them are telling their kids that there won't be any Christmas and that Santa won't call.

I think this year I'll buy everyone a share in a camel or immunisations or schoolbooks for a third-world country and ask them to donate anything they'd spend on me to charity (or not): I have enough, more than enough stuff, everyone I know has enough stuff, don't need any more things. I'd like to get back to just enjoying the company of the people I care about, a decent meal without it being a huge blow out, something nice to drink. OK, a lot of something nice to drink.

And I'd like for the TV companies to stop making Christmas specials, that are bad enough in December, even worse on repeat in July.

                I LOVE XMAS!!!!

                1) I get lots of days off work

                2) I get to eat nice grub from Marks & Spencers without feeling guilty - my second son insists because he likes it and it's supposed to be my holiday

                3) I get nice pressies - both sons are now trained to buy me shoes for every gift occasion

                4) I get to drink champagne (or cheaper sparkling wine) all day every day without anyone daring to sauggest that I'm a dipso

                5) I can stay in my dressing gown for as long as I like, and take wee naps if I want to

                6) While my sons socialise, I get custody of the sitting room, big sofa, remote control etc

Hard lines Ruck, go drinking at one and drink through the pain, as Jenta pointed out, it's acceptable at Christmas.
