Seriously though it's one thing after another. Halloween is only just gone, and now it's Christmas.

Limerick is choked with traffic in and around the Childers Road, even on Sundays due to the shoppers.

2 weeks is plenty of time for the entire festive thing imho.

Christmas now takes up three months of the year. All of November and December, then you've got the post christmas blues mixed with January sales and being broke in January.

There should be an absolute ban on Christmas until December 1st. Anyone who gets even remotely Merry before that date must be taken out and shot. End of.

To be honest, I quite liked the 'old' Christmas, which involved spending some time with family and friends, and trying to be a bit nicer to people, just because..

But I hate with a seething passion this (now) 3 month marketing & shopping Hallmark binge-fest. Did you know that Santa Claus as we know him is a Coca Cola invention? Yet another reason to hate Christmas.

          Women's Christmas is cool though.

Christmas in my place of work has been in the planning stage for the last 4 months. It will all kick off at the end of november and continue until early febuary. The planning will then kick off in july again. The Crimson King will understand

Also, I used to work in corporate entertainment. The christmas party is one of the most soul destroying entities one can imagine, particularly for the staff, generally being full of rude, ignorant, w**kers. Thefeeling of wantingto go postal on the idiots and gougers that organise these 'events', is still one of the reasons why I have refused to have anything to do with them for about the last 4 years

Christmas is at the end of December. I enjoy the week from Christmas Eve to New Year, but Christmas in November no way
Computer games don't affect kids, I mean if Pac Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music.

When I saw a Crimbo Tree up in BHS in Sept (I kid you not) the ghost was well and truly up.

However, I still have a gra for the Christmas, possibly because I am away from home. There is nothing like going to the local on Xmas eve to see people one hasn't seen in a year, and then to the races on Stephens Day for a good auld lash up.

Woops. Not like me to extend an already too-long festival. Still, I do need a head start to get my shopping done! (Yeah, right! I'll wander in on Christmas Eve, drag my arm along a shelf and whatever falls in my basket gets bought as a present).

Way to early to be looking at Christmas decorations. Went into town on the 1st of November and the street lights were already going up
