    Oh no
He was as lame as a duck. Not the metaphorical lame duck either, but a real duck that was actually lame. Maybe from stepping on a land mine or something.

Another theme song of youth - for some of us. Probably my age, but ‘ever fallen .... ‘ still sounds as immediate and sincere as it did all those years ago.

Buzzcocks wrote excellent pop songs despite their punk credentials. ‘Ever fallen..’ is the stand out but ‘Promises’, ‘What do I get’ and others were all great songs too

Probably next year or the year after next they will take some stopping"

Hugh McIlvanney the Legendary Sports Journalist died last week.

He mostly wrote about Football but among his greatest works was an interview with Muhammad Ali in the days after the Rumble in the Jungle.

                              according to the London Independent,

"Patrick Collins, president of the Sports Journalists’ Association, said on McIlvanney’s retirement in 2016: “To call him a great writer is like describing Muhammad Ali as a useful heavyweight.” "

Albert Finney, aged 82. He was a star long before I really became aware of him, but that changed when Miller's Crossing came out (feck, 29 years ago now). Apart from that, his stand-out roles for me were in the (final two) Denis Potter TV dramas, Karaoke and Cold Lazarus, and his performance in Before The Devil Knows You're Dead.
