    Car Insurance

It's almost that time of year again for me, time to renew the car insurance.

I've generally found Britton Insurance to be the cheapest and at the moment, they're winning my bidding with a quote of just over €700 for fully comp.

    Anyone got any recommendations?

I heard they are awful to deal with if you actually have to make a claim though. Been regularly told to avoid them at all costs.

True. Quinn are awful in the event of a claim. It's worth making a few calls and web searches.

        perhaps more?

If you can find a broker who deals with Certus(sp), they are very competitive.

Hibernian direct were about the cheapest for me but as the old saying goes, its best to shop around.

AXA - thay've been consistently the best for myself anyway - €350 fully comp and nobody else has been able to beat that !

we have a great broker here at work Jardine Llyod Thompson JLT.

Did very well with them this year and last. Might get the house ins with them too.

FBD give a discount on your house ins if you have car cover too.

i know its a bit off topic but it does affect my insurance, its to do with penalty points, i have 4, i got 2 threeyears ago and 2 two years ago, do my original 2 expire now and am i back to 2 penalty poinst or am i stuck with 4 until three years after i picked up the second 2 points? could anyone enlighten me?....thanks
\"I am \" is reportedly the shortest sentence in the English language. Could it be that \"I do \" is the longest sentence?

Points are taken off your license 36 months from when they went on.

So if it's over 3 years since your first ticket you now only have 2, and will have none in another 12 months, all going well.
