I was expecting my son to take it badly but he was ok. I was curious to see how they'd have reacted to it

Keith Wood dips his toe into the restaurant business, already has his café the past number of years

now located in the former Brendan Grace's Bar site, near the top of the town.

I have wanted to open a restaurant in my native Killaloe for as long as I can remember. Having travelled the world with rugby and eaten in some incredible restaurants I relished the thought of one day having the opportunity to put a twist on some of their famous dishes. Wood & Bell stems from a conversation over dinner in Chicago with Malcolm Bell, on the eve of the magnificent Ireland win over the All Blacks. Twelve months later we are ready to make that dream into a reality.

I'd like to welcome you to Upstairs at Wood & Bell which opens on Friday, December 1st under the stewardship of Chef Paddy Collins. Bookings essential.

I look forward to seeing you there.

      Keith Wood

Where's good for brunch in Limerick? Something along the lines of the buttery.

Hard to beat Dolan's all-day breakfast.
          Tis but a scratch.

I must admit I preferred the original location of the cafe, it was nice and bright.

Spent a week in Lanzarote in between the Exeter game and the Dragons game. There's an excellent Italian Restaurant in Puerto del Carmen.

La Casa del Parmigiano. It's at the Fariones end of the Strip. Keep going south along the strip 'till you come to a T junction, turn down to your left and it's on your right before the bicycle shop.
