That wasn't a problem with the DOJ starting an investigation into conspiracy theories re surveillance on the perfect Trump 2016 campaign.
    A poor choice of words.

Embers normally remain after a fire but sometimes precede it.

Reich has lost it. Looking deranged there. Has nobody told him that Trump's authoritarian response to BLM has hit him hard in the polls?

FFS, given how much damage a second Trump term would do to the US and the world, it hardly seems "deranged" to express concern that Trump could win
The Economists model give Trump a 10% chance of winning - those kind of odds frankly keep me awake at night, and not much keeps me awake.

Still a long way to go to November, Trump will have lots of help to get back into this, from the Christian right, from China & Russia, from big money on Wall Street. And he has the apparatus of government behind him, and in particular a powerful AG, and a likely majority in the Supreme Court, and Republican control of key battleground states (and the Rs have shown no qualms about stealing elections). He has installed allies in the US Postal Service who will be responsible for sending out postal ballots

And despite his drop in polls he has a solid 40% who will vote for him even as he kills them

Biden is prone to gaffes, is 77, and is high risk during a pandemic which the US is royally ****ing up. At some point he has to go on offense, and that will open him up to attacks

No its not insane, deranged or rabid to counsel caution, and focus

And Democrats are experts at losing elections. Defund the police being a prime example of how to do it.

Howeld yure horses Tonto. It's not deranged to see a path to winning for Trump, actually Reich is a fine quality person and astute. My point was: he LOOKS deranged.

I remember seeing a few years ago a picture of some Indonesian fans at a match during a tour of southeast Asia by Liverpool. They were holding a banner that read “Justice for the 96”. It was an admirable display of solidarity for the dead of Hillsborough from the other side of the world.

Nonetheless, something jarred about the memorialising, given Indonesia has a significant hole in its collective memory for a massive historical injustice of its own. This was the slaughter of up to one million communists and suspected sympathisers in 1965 and 1966.

Suharto was an appalling bastard. I remember Pilger's reporting from East Timor....horrendous stuff.

About the 1960s slaughter of suspected Communists
Not the politics per se but the individuals and how they rationalize killing

The latest odds I've seen give Trump about a 35% chance of re-election.

He will absolutely lose the popular vote, but turn around Florida, Pennsylvania and Ohio and things get interesting.

And a lot of things can happen between here and November.

Given that the last election was turned on its head by James Comey's ego 24 hours before voting started it's absolutely pointless speculating who will win at the moment. Far too much could happen between now and November.

WH Hopes Americans “Grow Numb” To Death Toll

                              The Washington Post reports:
Trump’s advisers are seeking ways to reframe his response to the coronavirus — even as the president himself largely seeks to avoid the topic because he views it as a political loser. They are sending health officials to swing states, putting doctors on TV in regional markets where the virus is surging, crafting messages on an economic recovery and writing talking points for allies to deliver to potential voters.

The goal is to convince Americans that they can live with the virus — that schools should reopen, professional sports should return, a vaccine is likely to arrive by the end of the year and the economy will continue to improve. White House officials also hope Americans will grow numb to the escalating death toll and learn to accept tens of thousands of new cases a day, according to three people familiar with the White House’s thinking, who requested anonymity to reveal internal deliberations.

If true, it really brings the word spin to an incredible level but it is a logical explanation for the way he behaves.

Wouldn't you love to be on the tee in Doonbeg shouting fore at him all day as you crashed drives at him down the fairway.

Sad thing is, at least 42% of Americans will buy this BS.
