He's a goner. No chance whatsoever of survival. Could be very soon. Wait and see what is coming out. Much worse than anybody guessed.

There will be an impeachment process. The House will vote to impeach. There will be a Senate Trial. A few Republican Senators will vote to convict (Romney, Collins maybe Ben Sasse) but not enough for a 2/3rd majority
A big issue will be do you want to remove from office in an election year?
It will dominate the campaign. Biden will be the big loser, and Trump will face off against a preferred opponent to Biden. Likely Trump will still lose the election but if the economy avoids a recession who knows?

Wait and see what more comes out. Trying to extort Zelensky to get dirt on Biden is only the tip of an iceberg. Trump told the Russian foreign minister Levrov and Russian ambassador Kislyak he wasn't bothered about Russian election interference because "we (the US) do the same thing" (this memo is also in the high security server). The most benign view you can take on this is that Trump is naive.
National security is sacred to traditional Republicans. It won't take much now for a critical mass of Republicans to come out against Trump. 90% of Republican supporters are still behind Trump but that can change quickly.

It could be that White House staffers have gone rogue on the sh*tgibbon. The info coming out now is intelligently constructed and appears also to be strategically timed. They have been watching Trump over the past 3 years (the CIA are arch enemies of the Russians) and have drawn up a plan to destroy him. They understand well the dangers to them personally and have taken precautions to minimize that by setting out a road map for investigation. For the 1st time in Trump's presidency he has lost control of the narrative. Julie Fanny is a clown and a loose cannon likely to make things worse.

An interesting example of both finding and losing the plot at the same time.

Texts between the spl envoy to the Ukraine, US ambassadors, State Dept officials, Julie Fanny seen in the last 2 days by Congressional committees show not only implicit quid pro quo in Trump's dealing with the Ukrainian president but explicit coaching over months as to what he had to do and being left in no doubt that the military aid and a visit to the WH were dependent on Ukraine getting dirt on Joe Biden. Some of the info reveals the struggle the Ukrainians had in managing this and their fears they might pony up and still not get the aid.
Also staffers in the WH were struggling themselves with what they knew was seriously wrong, concerned about the security of the Ukraine and how this was aiding Putin etc.
Hard to see how the GOP can stand over this. Of course nothing will change in the immediate moment, if/when they turn on him it will be sudden and hard.

But a new poll out today shows that 51% of Americans are now in favour of the impeachment hearing and only 44% against. Also around 44% think he should be removed from office.

At this point in Nixon's impeachment, 51% of Americans were against his impeachment and the numbers for were in the low 40s.

ps This is before even more damning stuff with Putin, the Chinese (who he tried to extort over Hong Kong and tariffs for further dirt) and is in the secret server, comes out.

Trump is going for the nuclear option in his strategy to fight impeachment. He's blocking the release of any docs etc.

More is being leaked now about what's in the secret server and for those of you interested you will see in the hews in the next days.

It definitely looks to me that a group of staffers in intelligence have taken it on themselves to destroy him (quite rightly)

They have a plan to keep releasing more damaging details at regular intervals the effect of which will be to make it hard for Republicans to excuse or ignore. And thus lead to full disclosures which is very likely to prove his end.

There are Republicans who have principles but it's hard for them to speak out. But when the evidence of wrong doing reaches a level that nobody can defend then you are likely to see a rebellion in the Republican camp, if only to try and save themselves from going down with him.

Busy few days for the Trump Regime
                          • Pulling the american forces out of Syria (I think in the hopes of causing enough headlines to paper over the other unpleasantness going on around Donald). Followed by even some of his most devoted ass kissers calling his decision stupid
                          • His taxes being demanded by a judge
                          • Blocking the EU Ambassador from testifying on the perfect call
If there is nothing there, why not just let the ambassador testify? this only hardens the argument he's after doing something dodgy.

Eventually the presidency ages you. Obama, who looked so fit and young in the beginning, suddenly started greying. After a lifetime of bluster and defiance the momentum carries Trump on but I think he's starting to look diminished. There's a look of inevitable defeat in his eyes. The WH has now declared total non compliance with the impeachment hearings. Nixon similarly refused to hand over the tapes. It'll go fairly quickly through the courts. With Nixon it took 2 months until finally the Supreme Court ordered them handed over. He resigned 2 weeks later. Mueller's diffidence actually helped Trump. I think Mueller has lost it. He allowed enough ambiguity for Trump's supporters to have cover to push the overreach/witch hunt narrative and put a doubt in the public mind. But Trump has been caught with his hand in the cookie jar here. Extortion is obvious. The benefit of the doubt the public were giving him is slipping away and even the Russia stuff now looks different. The polls have swung and more than half the public now want the hearings to continue and/or want him removed. They're not listening to the spin. Why did he release the transcript so easily? Impulsiveness. He didn't think he'd done anything wrong. He thinks it's ok to use a bit of presidential leverage to get a favour. It might be something a president would do...............but not something they'd ever be able to admit. Presidential protocol/culture demands at least the appearance of a higher level of behaviour. This is something Trump just doesn't get. This ignorance was seen before when he said he'd look at dirt on an opponent from a foreign power if it was offered. Coupled with the delusion that he knows better than everyone means he won't listen to counselling. I've no doubt there's worse, much worse yet to come out. In conversations with others leaders and in his finances. Then assuming he owes no debt to 'sh*thole tribes like the Kurds and can sell them out to be able to say he took the US out of a war...............the whole Republican Party is outraged. Dishonour. That will encourage senators to seriously accept he's got to go.
