He hasn't delivered for the blue collar democrats, his polling is awful.

His core will vote for him again. That gets him to 35-40% ish. The "we want to see some change" people will split. And the "anyone but Hilary" types will hopefully be shaken out of their torpor.

I think Sanders would beat him. I think O'Rourke would beat him. I think Booker would beat him. I think Biden would beat him, but would be a shocking waste. I'd love Warren to beat him. I think Trump vs Kamala Harris in a Presidential debate would be a blood bath.
Trump would love to take on Sanders (a Socialist), Kamala Harris (woman of color from California), Booker (man of color from blue New Jersey). Warren (woman, intellectual) He says he wants Biden because thats the one he doesnt want. Biden will siphon of a lot of working class votes, and even if the Democratic base wont be happy they will vote for him. personally i think he is too old, too much of the past, but I think he is the most likely to beat Trump. Of the front runners he is the only one right now who looks like he could. And in his favor as President he would select a competent cabinet. The bar is low for the Presidency right now.
Buttegigs optics right now in South Bend are awful, and show him as an out of touch technocrat lacking the common touch (plus I personally think it was Republicans talking him up as they would love a gay white man as Trumps opponent). Klobachour has got no traction.

He didn't assault that woman because she's not his type. He's an awful human being. Just the lowest of the low!

He has rolled out that excuse before "She's not my type or have you had a good look at her", quite incredulous.

I just don't see it. The guy stumbled through the door of the white house by mathematical accident.

Quinnipiac polling has Biden beating him by 13 points, Sanders beating him by 9, Harris by 8, Warren by 7. Booker by 5.

"We will not walk in fear, one of another. We will not be driven into an age of unreason if we dig deep into our history and remember we are not descended from fearful men" Edward R Murrow

"Little by little, we have been brought into the present condition in which we are able neither to tolerate the evils from which we suffer, nor the remedies we need to cure them." - Livy

"I think that progress has been made by two flames that have always been burning in the human heart. The flame of anger against injustice and the flame of hope that you can build a better world" - Tony Benn

Mueller agrees to testify in open house on the Russia investigation on 17th July. This is a very big torpedo now heading towards the SS Trump.

That was before swing voters got to see trump as president. As few as 88,000 people in three states may have swung it for Trump last time!

                Edit: Actually 77,000.

What has he done to earn new voters since he took office?

What promises has he kept that were made to his base? What reasons have they to vote for him again?

It wasn't only secret Trump supporters who voted, there was a dislike of Hillary which feed into complacency that Trump couldn't win and many didn't bother voting. There will certainly be a big factor of casual voters who will vote this time to get him out.
Trump is like one of these prison rioters who gets onto the roof and uses his new found success throwing slates at the police and screws and declaring demands for prisons to be run by prisoners etc.
There's a reckoning a-coming and as soon as his 'democratic' power status is over he'll be besieged with indictments, his sham empire dismantled and serious bird on the menu. You have to laugh at Ivanka fancying the Trumps becoming the new Kennedys and her running for president. I'd say she's well away with the fairies but the fairies might put a curse on me for associating them with her.
How the eejit will handle that will be interesting. I don't think he's one to top himself. Playing the martyr will be prominent but his support will disappear like smoke when the full extent of his activities comes out. He might have a go at some sort of medical condition - like brain spurs etc. This will be the mother of all dramas.

In fairness the polls weren't as wrong as some make out. She got 3 millions more votes than him. However the ridiculously outdated electoral college system meant she didn't win.

Are there any other democracies in the world where the person who wins the most votes doesn't win?

Probably a whole lot of DKs in there and as people get to know candidates better, and the Republican spin machine cranks up, the potential downsides for all of them will be bigger than an upside. Biden is best known (which is why he is ahead) but there is not too much new dirt then can pull on him. And he is likable - centrist, working class Joe. Sanders - a "Socialist"? 50:50 with Trump

We have a democracy where the Taoiseach isn’t even elected.

The Taoiseach is elected by the Dáil.

                              Appointed, not elected.

Nominated, and approved by a vote of the Dáil, then appointed by the President, if you want to be really picky.

The Taoiseach can only gain office as a result of a vote. That's being elected in my book.
