No way Boris doesn't make the last two, imo. The rest of the vote is too fractured, and him getting beaten into third would be very hard to foresee anyway. The members will vote him in unless a major scandal derails him, which isn't an impossibility.

I think he's the death knell of the Conservative Party though. No self respecting, reasonable Conservative (vanishingly few as they might be now) can see that charlatan in Downing Street and not be totally horrified.

Anyone with a long view knows that they're rapidly aging, rabidly right wing base is a liability. There's a total rebuild to be done.

"We will not walk in fear, one of another. We will not be driven into an age of unreason if we dig deep into our history and remember we are not descended from fearful men" Edward R Murrow

"Little by little, we have been brought into the present condition in which we are able neither to tolerate the evils from which we suffer, nor the remedies we need to cure them." - Livy

"I think that progress has been made by two flames that have always been burning in the human heart. The flame of anger against injustice and the flame of hope that you can build a better world" - Tony Benn

The most important political skill is the ability to count. He doesn't have the numbers to force an election even with the SNP, Plaid, & the Lib Dems.

He could have tried a deal to break the DUP from the Tories and got the numbers but at what cost to Ireland? And what would you have said about him if he had done that?

Maybe the mystery of him refusing to say how many children he has?

Dominic Raab now eliminated from leadership race
"There are a lot of points that we’ve left behind and this is with a young group. That probably tells you what they’re capable of and that they’re a very good side.

Probably next year or the year after next they will take some stopping"

              Our next PM?

Load of ballacks. He has to have the confidence of the HoC. DUP supply and confidence agreement ends on the 27th of June.

Plus BoJo is hated by a good 20 -30 Tory MPs.

He was also woejebus on the debate last night.

A bit of a bustup for Boris to kick off the whose in charge row.

I must say the narrative out of England over the last year in particular is really putting me off visiting the place. Transited through Heathrow last week and was determined not to give them a penny. And those loonies up North during down the deal of the century in favour of an even harder Brexit is also something else.

Despite the damage this will do in the short term, I think I will be glad to see the back of them.

The extension period that was given to the British is proving to be very fruitful, isn't it?

The UK is in a very, very dark place right now. I'm not looking forward to October / November.
