So having had your theory debunked...

the Labour Party could join with May and against the ERG in the National interest to get a compromise between them.

      Unicorns.

It is also not a theory that there is a difference between a customs union and something that is not a customs union.

You are wasting your time. Certain posters like to hold contrarian positions not because they actually believe in them, but for low level trolling.

Hey you got the other Fitz rushing to your assistance - to be fair he is at least keen if not able.

If there is a no deal - Labour along with the right wing Tories & DUP will share the blame and however badly Labour are doing in the polls now (managing to be behind a shambolic Tory Government) - they will be crucified, especially in the South at the next election.

Labour: We take no responsibility as MPs even though we voted to trigger article 50 - all down to the evil Tories.

well it is good enough for the dozy camp followers.

Tusks comments may actually help to deflect some attention away from the madness of the Brexiteers and lead to attacks on the EU - but on balance his comments should help remind British MPs (of all parties) of the seriousness of the situation and the need to sort it out - rather than squabbling between themselves.

From The Guardian Jeremy Corbyn has written to the prime minister, offering to throw Labour’s support behind her Brexit deal if she makes five legally binding commitments – including joining a customs union.
He says the changes to the political declaration must include:
                      • A “permanent and comprehensive UK-wide customs union”, including a say in future trade deals.
                      • Close alignment with the single market, underpinned by “shared institutions”.
                      • “Dynamic alignment on rights and protections”, so that UK standards do not fall behind those of the EU.
                      • Clear commitments on future UK participation in EU agencies and funding programmes.
                      • Unambiguous agreements on future security arrangements, such as use of the European arrest warrant.

EU can't accept "shared institutions" surely. a "say" in future trade deals is fine as long as it's simply "Yes Master".

It's just a rephrasing of EFTA. A say equals a stay. Until reality makes yes inevitable.

"Close alignment with the single market " still requires a backstop for variations in standards between the North and GB - which they have previously objected to.

Corbyn may have to move as "40 or 50" Labour MPs might jump ship if he doesn't.

Missing from the 'six tests' is the fair settlement on migration.
