    any cooks out there?

http://www.lidl.ie/cps/rde/SID-4387F...etail&id=10909 can a convection microwave replace an oven?

    Does it work?

No. end of story. You cant roast a leg of lamb, or cook a lasagne, or cottage pie, or bake bread in a microwave!

Thanks niall. Me and herself like croissants in the morning. The oven takes 15min to warm up and 20 minutes to cook them so I was hoping new technology had found a way to keep a small bit of money out of esb's pockets...ah well

If you want to save money and enjoy good slow food an old fashioned slow cooker is an efficient option. Mine goes away in the summer but will be back out by the time the autumn lamb arrives.

sounds like a long time. my old oven used to take a while to heat and was then very hot all the time. turned out the glass panel and seal were loose so a lot of heat (and electricity) loss

Here's a heads up 4u barleys...frozen croissants from the annacotty farm shop then cooked at home. Incredible. .I really believe we've found an irish company that makes better croissants than the french.

They have this mocha coffee spread there McCloud in their deluxe range. A small bit if that on the croissant and its bliss. If you like lidls croissants try the ones from annacotty farm shop...the smell of them cooking is grand and they taste better than the lidl ones.

While saying in Canal du Midi for the Semi in Montpellier, I fancied chocolate croissants but none were to be had. So I found a MArs bar in the car and stuck it in the the ordinary croissant in the microwave! Yum
