    Banana Republic Septic Isle

Millward Brown poll today says Fianna Fail are now this country's most popular party. What the hell is going on here? I see Silvio is raising his head again in Italy, so maybe we're not the only serial masochists. That said FF being still in existence is truly repugnant. Surely time now for a new party, they'd coast in.

Isn't it high time we had another route. Just as Britain is Hamstrung by Tories v Labour & the States with Rep v Democrats. We're stuck with Tweedledee & Tweedledum even though Tweedledee burned the house down the other pricks are as bad

Careful what you wish for! Mad Dog McDowell is still lurking in the undergrowth, ready to answer Ireland's Call!

And Eamon Ryan still believes that, to misquote Napoleon, he has a Field Marshall's baton stuck up his jacksy

Interestingly, 27% of the people polled were "don't knows" - in other words, more than 1 in 4 of the electorate don't know who to support - or, more likely, which party they hate least!

Next gov will be FF/SF. Sinn Fein will be lucky with a rising European economy and outshine FF.
Next election after that SF will be the new FF.

Two cheeks of the arse with Labour the arsehole in the middle.
We'll engrave your name in gold, as we did in days of old.

Bertie Ahern and his cronies choose FF as a means to their end which was power, it could just have easily been FG but the opportunity presented itself quicker with FF and Charlie H at the helm was already stroking like a good one.

Yes there is a void at the moment but there are several in the bushes waiting for the gap, paticularly disenchanted FFers.

We don't need disenchanted FFers forming new parties we need new parties with no civil war baggage and a genuine interest in running the country for the benefit of society, not their clique. The PDs were formed by disenchanted FFers and they quickly became FF Light.

If SF get into power I would seriously consider leaving the country. Apart from being scumbags, they have zero idea on the economy. Their socialist principles will be quickly forgotten once power has been achieved just like in NI.

Rarely before have I seen the words "principles" and "Sinn Fein" in the same sentence. For me, it's the ultimate oxymoron.

                            Can't really argue that one.

Oh no, you're not. Conservatives here are really speculating about a possible return of Sarkozy... So, Italy, France... Something is going wrong today quiet everywhere in Europe, so it's nearly impossible to renew the vision of our common future.

For to desire is to be incomplete: it is the badge of dependence, the signal of unhappiness, and to be freed from that is to be freed from every fetter that can possibly be forged."
