    <h1>Eddie O'Sullivan to appear on Tubridy</h1>
    @@@@SPAN ="storyDate">Friday, 23 March 2007 11:11@@@@/SPAN>

interest in the Irish rugby team at an all time high, despite narrowly
missing out on winning theSix Nations, coach Eddie O'Sullivan will
appear on Tubridy Tonight, this Saturday 24 March.

The Corkman has been in charge of the national side since 2001. In
that time, he has guided Ireland to three Triple Crowns and toa
quarter finals place of the 2003 Rugby World Cup. Last year the Irish
recorded notable Test victories over South Africa and Australia and are
now ranked fourth in the world rankings.

O'Sullivan, himself, played rugby for Garryowen. However it was as a
coach that he made his name. He started at a minor club in Galway,
before being appointed as a rugby development officer with the IRFU. <div id="story_island"> </div>

He followed this with spells coaching at Blackrock College, Connacht
and the Irish Under-21 side, who were winners of the 1996 'Triple
Crown'. In 1997, O'Sullivan moved to America to coach the US Eagles. On
his appointment as assistant coach to the Irish national side in 1999,
he returned home, before succeeding Warran Gatland as head coach in
    December, 2001.

No doubt, Ryan will get Eddie's thoughts on the disappointing
conclusion to this year's Six Nations; the historic Croke Park
encounter against the English; the alleged choking incident on Ronan
O'Gara and the prospects for this autumn's World Cup in France.
