Dublin Waterworld is to hand over possession of the National Aquatic Centre to the State-run Campus and Stadium Ireland Development.

A settlement in the long-running case was reached between the two parties this morning.

Dublin Waterworld is to vacate the centre by 30November. No order on costs was made.

A spokesman for CSID saidit waspleased with the outcome of the case.

He said the company was looking forward to taking over the running of the centre and wanted to reassure staff about its future.

He said CSID had contingency plans for the runningof the centre which would be implemented later this month.

The spokesman added that it would also be carrying out a health check of the centre and if any concerns aroseit would allay them.

Dublin Waterworld had brought an appeal after the High Court ordered it to hand over possession of the centre.

The High Court had found that Dublin Waterworld, which was running the centre, had carried out wilful breaches of the lease for operating the centre.
