Looking forward to that one. Could it be another potential GS event and if so, how will the mettle hold up this time I wonder?

Thanks for the update Italianrugbyfriend.

Do you think there will be any tickets available on the public sale on January 7th?

You have to purchase their hospitality package for €200 in order to purchase a match ticket. If you are happy to procced on that basis than best of luck!!!

Guys... best thing to do for you is to contact your federation for the
tickets or wait the 7th of January for the online selling!!!!!

What does the "Hospitality package" include?

I just checked the cost of flights that weekend, and they're over 300 yoyos, and it would mean a long weekend, so probably another 3-400 on accommodation (at a guess); plus food, drink and transfers/taxis. 200 (as opposed to about 75 euros here for a 6N ticket?) wouldn't make that much of a difference.

IRFU won't be distributing tickets directly. There may well be tickets on sale on the 7th but it appears there's a possibility they'll block sales to anyone in Ireland/UK.

Never been to Rome for the rugby - what's ticket availability like normally (pubs the night before/outside the ground)? Imagine the chance of a championship win plus Paddy's Day in Rome will tempt a lot of people to travel.

From the IRFU site:
"Tickets for the Irish away games will be distributed by the IRFU to
the provincial branches who will distribute them through the rugby
clubs. You must be a member of a rugby club in order to purchase
tickets from them."

Actually I'm not sure, but I think that tickets won't be easily found
before the match in Rome... rugby is growing in Italy, and many
italians will come to Rome to party Paddy's Day with many irish
fans... so I would buy the tickets before!!!
