Obvious choice but seriously detrimental to everything Scarlett's have achieved in the last two seasons. Glasgow haven't been the same since the national interest took their man.

Does he (Gatland) now become the nailed on choice to take the Lions to South Africa on the basis that a) Joe Schmidt won't take the job due to lack of preparation time with players and b) he will jump at the chance of having an unbeaten 3 tour streak to play for and be unable to turn the job down.
Its deja vu all over again!!!

Yes - he is leaving the Welsh job. My question was whether he is retiring, or perhaps moving on elsewhere.

I'd imagine he has designs on the all blacks gig.

Whether he'll get it or not probably depends on what St Joe ends up doing.

I heard Davies saying Pivac will restore Welsh pride, get the players to focus on precision and return the principality to the pinnacle.

Did they over or underachieve with Gatland?

I think personally that the players have played ever so well under Gatty. They've achieved a lot. I suppose you could always design a poll if you wish to establish how a broader base of people view the matter
