    Death of a real legend

Don't know if it's been reported elsewhwhere and don't think it should be in the celebrity RIP thread as he never courted the celebrity life but BBC just reported on the Passing Of Colin Meads at 81 from cancer.
A true rugby Legend in all it senses.
my condolences to his family and the people of New Zealand.

The title legend is thrown around very loosely these days but Colin Meads was truly a LEGEND . May he rest in peace

I saw the statue they unveiled for him and visited Waitete R.F.C on a recent trip to NZ.

Real rugby folk and given the size of the place the status Meades had was huge, Te Kuiti is colloquially known as "Meadsville" . The club retired the no. 5 jersey for the club and the No. 5 now wears 55.

        RIP
