Scotland came the closest to beating a SH side of any of the 6 Nations sides at the RWC, your "litmus test". Why would we cut them? If the RWC truly is the litmus test, then we should be the ones cut along with Italy.

The World Cup should be played in February and let's see how they get on.

The kilkenny comparison is the interesting one that POC alluded too on twitter with the picture of hundreds of kids hurls out the front of church. They're all getting their basic skills sorted before they hit the teenage years so you've got hundreds of players to choose from. In rugby they pick it up far later and they could be coached terribly and not be able to pass as an example, then it's just down to whether you're big enough to win a collision to be a useful player at schools level. It's like mickey mantle says in Paul Simon's me and julio down by the schoolyard - "you kids need some fundamentals".
The system is dead! Long live the process!

Make the most of ruck ball while we have it, folks, because in about twenty, twenty-five years, it'll be disappearing for decade and coming out the other side...

"There are a lot of points that we’ve left behind and this is with a young group. That probably tells you what they’re capable of and that they’re a very good side.

Probably next year or the year after next they will take some stopping"

I'd say himself and Earlsie would be great room mates.
