Thx to Canal+ to cut the show when France do not play... Came to late for the beginning of the game. Defeat 12-28.
Canada made the difference at the end of the first half and showed more experience, especcially physically. Nvertheless, great job by the guys, promises a lot for the future.
For those who want to follow the team and the whole competition nest season, https://www.sevensvideo.com/ That's free, and official. I hope it will be the same next season.
"To be energetic and self-sufficing is to be happy; but while one desire remains in the heart happiness may not come there. For to desire is to be incomplete: it is the badge of dependence, the signal of unhappiness, and to be freed from that is to be freed from every fetter that can possibly be forged." (James Stephens, Deirdre)

Absolute horror show from Ireland. Got to an early 14-0 lead, suffered a 14-38 loss in the end.

Good things happen to those who wait, though mostly much too late.

Probable QF v Spain now which will be a very tough one.

A good win thanks to a try in the last play, FT Spain 12-17 Ireland. On to the semis (v Germany I think)

France hosts and handed the gimme pool. Must be heavy favourites (were probably anyway)
Would be some achievement if Ireland were to win this

The way the pools are, if all of Ireland, England and France win their pool and then go on to win their QF, Ireland will face England in the SF, the winner then probably facing France in the final.

But the Russia and Spain games will already be tricky in the pool stage!

Seems a bit crazy that only one team out of this lot gets to go to the Olympics.

Saturdays games seem to have disappeared from the Freesport schedule, we seem to have Australian Cycling and Shootout Pool whatever that is instead.

Indeed, ignore the bit about Freesports. Their website now shows no coverage. Just use the Rugby Europe website.
