Legends Stuart Mangan Cup IRFU Charitable trust

We went to this game last it last night in donnybrook and it was a fun evening. Alain rolland was the referee.

There was plenty of competition and rivalry and a couple of hand offs that will be legendry themselves but the highlights were when Ireland who were down by 20 points or so were aided by the referee. There was a ruck camped on the English Try Line when Alain Rolland grabbed the ball out of the ruck and threw himself down over the line for Ireland and scored. He jumped up and blew his whistle to award himself a try!
Then later on while we were again camped but not going anywhere there was an intercept by Martin Corrie who started heading off down the pitch and Rolland ran in under the post and awarded a penalty try to Ireland!
For a fun night out and a worthy cause you should put this in the diary for next year.

Twas a scrum Boo he scored the try from! Reliving his days as a scrum half he was. He spent most of the game laughing.

Twas some laugh. Rolland spent the game with a big grin on his face. One local D4 lad pointed out to Boo & myself that "you'd know ye two were Munster fans" cos we were shouting & cheering so much (as per usual). There was a lot of "Ah Jeremy (Staunton)" which reminded me of his Munster days (sorry Jeremy!). I dunno howe the Claw managed the 5 minutes stints he played. Trevor Brennan had to be escorted off - looked like he got a little knock to the head.

Hopefully next time it's in ireland the likes of BOD & ROG get drafted in and increase gate receipts. It's for such a worthy cause.

ya there was a scrum awarded to us and he let the SH put the ball in but took it out again...i can't imagine any of them being supple enough to hook properly!

This is always my rugby highlight of the year. Caught up with so many ex-Quins from both Eng & Ire squads.
A very worthy cause and I love catching up with Stuart's family too.
Anyone heading over to Twickers next year should remember this fixture is always the night before the full Int and is held at The Stoop.
