    The Welsh fixture March 14th

    Hey guys,

with Aer Lingus' seasonal gesture of good will with 50% off flights we decided the head for the Welsh game in March. But with the last min decision to book flights, we've left it way to late to be ahead of the crowd and get any cheap deals on hotels in Cardiff and the feckers all seem to be set for cashing in. So, just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for hotels in Cardiff and sure while we're at it, if anyone that's done the Wales trip before can give us some pearls of wisdom on what to expect or tips etc.

    Sound, thanks!

Don't stay in Cardiff. Stay elsewhere - Newport 20 mins by train or Bristol 1 hour by train. Cardiff has a lack of hotels at the best of times and when the rugby is on, crazy prices. There is a Wetherspoons hotel in Newport, an ibis and holiday inn very near to Temple Meads station in Bristol where you get the train to Cardiff.

Thanks for the tip! Ya, looking at the crazy prices and the fact that as you say in about an hour we'd be back in Bristol, we'll probably just stay in Bristol. Hotel suggestions sound good too, going to take a look.

We always stay in Swansea and pop up to Cardiff on the train

If you are flying to Bristol then staying there makes sense.
But if you are flying into Cardiff then probably best look along local transport networks. Check Penarth and Barry then Llandaf, Taffs Well, Caerphilly, etc.
