    Bad news for Ulster fans

RTÉ has confirmed that it will have to block coverage of IRFU Autumn International Rugby to viewers in Northern Ireland from next year.

The statement from RTE said "Under the new contract awarded by the IRFU, RTÉ will be required to black our coverage of the International games on Freeview in Northern Ireland from 2014 to 2017. RTÉ were awarded the rights for the Republic of Ireland by the IRFU. The IRFU awarded the right for the UK to Sky."

    Disgraceful.

The gaze of Sauron (sky tv) casts it's unblinking eye over this weakling island.

My sympathies to the Irish Rugby supporters at the other end. This is money grabbing shyt treatment of honest and loyal fans.
    I am the million man.

      Is that even technically possible?

Edit : On freeview through a sky box it is, but presumably everyone is in range of Saorview in NI anyway?

Disgraceful indeed but it seems that the IRFU are mere Quislings in their dealings with the Sky empire.

As long as they get the Rabo matches they aren't missing anything bar the usual Ork home matches

Edit: sorry missed the last paragraph there. That's not on.

Might be a good time for Gerry to run his border poll

I have Norn Iron Sky box.

They already do this for the soccerball - Champions League and Premiership highlights.

Every so often they forget though
