So is Murray, D Ryan, and maybe Earls on the wing.

Varley, DOC, POC, Ryan, Wallace, O'Mahony, Murray, ROG, Earls, and maybe Jones.

Wally and Felix? Are they going to be anyway near match fitness to take an active part? Not doubting you BAAL. If no Felix I would like to see Hurley called up although it would create headaches from a Munster perspective.

Best Cronin and Varls is still 3 pretty great hookers to have even when Fla is crocked. We've great strength in depth at Hewker. Wally and POM would be eyebrow raisers!

He's the most natural try scorer available to Ireland, 5 tries in the RWC. He'll definitely start, it's only a question of where.
It is useless to attempt to reason a man out of a thing he was never reasoned into.

This is going a bit of the subject but Andrew Trimble might have something to say about that on his current form

To throw one from left field - would not be surprised to see Ronan or Coughlan in squad....

Assuming a back-row of Ferris, O'Brien and Heaslip - what happens if Heaslip picks up an injury. If O'Brien moves to 8, then Irish Management need to include cover at 7 so Jennings is probably favourite over Ronan

If they want to keep O'Brien at 7, then option is Ruddock or Coughlan. Again Ruddock probably ahead of Coughlan based upon past selections

But Leamy's injury means I would not be surprised at either selection

id say munster starters will be POC, DRYAN, DVARLEY,MURRAY,EARLS.
                    In the subs ROG DOC
POM make the bench for italian game.
Varley in fairness has been throwing and scrummaging very well, his support play and tackling is well up there,he will make the bench at least.

You think Varley will start ahead of one of the best hookers in the WC?!

DOC shouldn't be near the squad with McCarthy, Tuohy and Toner there.

POM will bench for all of the games hopefully.

I would start Reddan and depending on others would have Earls at 22, there are at least three more in form wingers and two better 13s than him atm.

Starters should be POC and D Ryan I'd say, but Murray and Earls may start also.

If the WC is the barometre then sexton wont make the bench.Varley has played very well,I think best will start, fine player he is, varley sub for him.
As for DOC bar a n injury he will bench.
Murray and earls are shoe ins at the moment.

What are you basing starting Earls on then if the WC isn't a barometer? Cos it certainly couldn't be Saturday after the way he stunk up the centre!

If you're saying past performance isn't an indicator, DOC would be nowhere near the squad. Light years away.

Also, Cronin has been playing some brilliant stuff for Leinster, aswell as a MOTM on Sat, so should bench. Great lineout and strong running.

Doc will probably make the bench but his behind the following
                            1 Poc
                            2 Mike McCarthy
                            3 Ryan
                            4 Tuohy
                            5 Toner

Based on current form and gametime. You cant select him for Ireland if he cant hold down a place in Munster and has only had a small bit of playing time. All of the above have played more.

I'm not convinced Ryan will be ahead of DOC. People say DOC has been dropped when in reality he just hasn't been starting. He's still a planned change and playing a lot of gametime at lock every week.
