Assuming a back-row of Ferris, O'Brien and Heaslip - what happens if Heaslip picks up an injury. If O'Brien moves to 8, then Irish Management need to include cover at 7 so Jennings is probably favourite over Ronan
If they want to keep O'Brien at 7, then option is Ruddock or Coughlan. Again Ruddock probably ahead of Coughlan based upon past selections
But Leamy's injury means I would not be surprised at either selection"When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies? Perhaps to be too practical is madness. To surrender dreams, this may be madness. To seek treasure where there is only trash. Too much sanity may be madness. But maddest of all -- to see life as it is, and not as it should be!"

You think Varley will start ahead of one of the best hookers in the WC?!
DOC shouldn't be near the squad with McCarthy, Tuohy and Toner there.
POM will bench for all of the games hopefully.
I would start Reddan and depending on others would have Earls at 22, there are at least three more in form wingers and two better 13s than him atm.
Starters should be POC and D Ryan I'd say, but Murray and Earls may start also."Why has the gap widened to the extent that even staunch Blues are sweating bricks, and (the honest ones) now fear a hiding?"

As for DOC bar a n injury he will bench.
Murray and earls are shoe ins at the moment.
If you're saying past performance isn't an indicator, DOC would be nowhere near the squad. Light years away.
Also, Cronin has been playing some brilliant stuff for Leinster, aswell as a MOTM on Sat, so should bench. Great lineout and strong running.Last edited by wixfjord; 16th-January-2012, 14:08."Why has the gap widened to the extent that even staunch Blues are sweating bricks, and (the honest ones) now fear a hiding?"

Doc will probably make the bench but his behind the following
1 Poc
2 Mike McCarthy
3 Ryan
4 Tuohy
5 Toner
Based on current form and gametime. You cant select him for Ireland if he cant hold down a place in Munster and has only had a small bit of playing time. All of the above have played more. When their numbers dwindled from 50 to 8, the other dwarves began to suspect Hungry
