What in the name of jesus has it to do with EOS? Who should have been playing instead of DOC or POC?

If anything, it's been his insistence on having MOD away from Munster that's cost him match time.

Mal O'Kelly? Casey? Might as well start himself.
What has Ireland having 2 second rows capable of playing international rugby at a decent level got to do with our national coach?

We could have more but Eddie's never attempted to find out. A couple of 20min appearances for either MOD or Hogan in that position this championship would have gone a long way to finding out.

Jackie, that's pretty much exactly my point.

Yes - that's what I asked. When only one province is producing anything that even looks like an international lock, what's he supposed to do? Pull them out of his arse?

No one esle - Hogan and Cullen included - have done anything to warrant a place on the team.

If there were guys with the requisite abilitynotgetting games, then that would be one thing. But there aren't.

Again - who should he have played and when should he have played him?

Cullen is clearly of the requisite ability. Hogan would also be worth a look at, he's well capable for the HEC and international is the next step up.

MOD has done nothing in a Munster shirt this year to suggest he warranted selection. And Hogan couldn't get a game at Munster.

What are you going to learn about a lock playing him for 20 minutes that you couldn't make an educated guess about from watching him the rest of the year?

Cullen made POC and DOC look pretty ordinary in the Heiney at Thomond and i've never been a fan of the ugly polar bear.

You are clearly having alaugh.Alternatively, you wouldn't know a lock if one stood up in your soup.

Cullen is a top class HEC lock. Too bad he playes in England at the moment

No need for that sort of talk.

IReland don't need O'Connell to take on the Italy pack. They need fire in the belly like they showed against England. Do that, hit the rucks hard and we'll win easily.

Since you don't seem to think it's worth developing a backup player I'm not sure you're the most reasonable person around, but Cullen more than held his own against the 2 incumbent Ireland locks in the HEC.

And another thing - Cullen is a better player than MOD. Therefore EOS is not picking the strongest 22 he can. This is hardly a good thing for our international team.

Cullen as an international lock is absurd. He got cleaned out by Alex Brown again today at Kingsholm.
